Error: Insightly does not have sufficient permissions to access Google Apps

Google has renamed G Suite to Google Workspace.

If you are seeing permissions errors like "Warning: Insightly does not have sufficient permissions to access your Google Apps domain," you will need to enable Insightly permissions in your Google Workspace admin console.

To add Google Workspace users to Insightly, you must be an admin in both Insightly and Google Workspace. You must be a Google Workplace admin to access the following pages.

Google Workspace Marketplace apps

  1. Navigate to Gmail. Click the Settings gear icon and select Manage this organization.
  2. Open the sidebar by clicking the three-line menu in the upper left of your screen. Click Apps > Google Workspace Marketplace apps > Apps list.
  3. Select the Insightly CRM app from your list of installed Google Workspace Marketplace apps.
  4. Under Data access, you can review the Google domain data that Insightly has permission to access. Each scope will have one of the following statuses:
    • Granted—The app has access to your domain’s data.
    • Revoked—The app doesn't have access to your domain’s data.
    • Partially Granted—The app has partial access to your domain’s data.
  5. If needed, click Grant access to reconfigure Insightly's permissions.

Google Workspace API

  1. Navigate to Gmail. Click the Settings gear icon and select Manage this organization.
  2. Open the sidebar by clicking the three-line menu in the upper left of your screen. Click Security > Access and data control > API controls.
  3. Under App access control, click Manage Third-Party App Access.
  4. Select Insightly from the list of third-party apps.
  5. Under App Access, click the Access Configuration dropdown and select Trusted: Can access all Google services.
