Importing contacts from gmail

I've now tried using your importing from gmail function about 12 times. I have over 10,000 contacts. Each time, Insightly only allows for the import of about 1,900.

Please advise me on how to complete the import. I've now been trying for 5 days.

  • Hey Deb,

As you have a paid account similar to the first poster, we will be opening a ticket for you as well. Please expect to see an email coming from Insightly support shortly.

  • I am having similar issues, but after 5 days have not successfully imported a single contact.  System says it is working in the background, but can't imagine what it's doing?  I have a free account (unlike the posts above), so guess you won't be opening a ticket for me.  Nevertheless, if the free account is this buggy, why would I pay to upgrade?

  • Hello Scott,

If you have a Free 14-day Insightly trial account you do have access to our support team via email.

As a workaround, I suggest you manually export your Google contacts, then manually import them into Insightly. This way you have the most control over your data. To export your Google Contacts, select all your contacts (or a sub-group), then select the Export option from the MORE menu dropdown. Confirm the contact population and the file format type (Google CSV).

Using that same file, you can import those records into Insightly.

Here are some helpful articles that explain Insightly's import process:

    1. Importing data into Insightly
    2. Importing Data video at Insightly University.
    3. These sections for Import and Export have even more articles you can explore.

    I hope that helps!
