Emails

 

Hi there,

I am new to Insightly - using the free trial to determine suitability for our purpose.

I'm sure this question may have been raised before but being new l have not found a solution to this issue yet.

I have sent four emails from Insightly, to the same contact (that has been created and linked to its organisation).

I have attached a document with two screenshots.

1. In my Sent Emails l can see all 4 emails that have been sent to TEST Contact

2. When l go to my Contact - TEST Contact and check Emails there is only record of 2 emails being sent.

Kindly advise what is happening here as l expect all four emails to be visible in the Contact - TEST Contact email tab

    There are a couple of ways to send an email out with a copy saved to the Insightly account. I took a peek and it looks like the first one was sent using an email template and linked properly. 

    Can you share a little more info on how each of the other emails were sent?

    I thought l sent them all the same way which is the purpose of my inquiry. As l am piloting this l purposely used Insightly to send all the emails

    Is it a requirement to always cc/bcc using the Insightly email (doc attached) to have them captured?

    There are a four ways to send emails out through Insightly, each is outlined in this article for you -  Sending email from Insightly. Sending in one of these four ways will automatically create the appropriate links to matching records.


    You can also send emails from your personal inbox and save a copy by using your Insightly email address

    I'm new to Insightly also. I'd evaluated before the upgrade, and now I'm using it in a live situation !

    I've sent a few emails - but I expected them to be shown under the contacts and organisation. I've only got contact.

    How do you link them to the organisation?

    Can you confirm the domain is included on your Organization record?

    I did think about filling in the domain name - and think I did retrospectively - but would have had to forward again, so see if it linked - can't remember now if it now.

    However, many of the business don't have websites and associated email domain names

    ie in your example - Free CRM for small Business

    Domain - would be Hotmail.com

    Would that solve it - of the contact associated with it - has email address of eg karen@hotmail.com

    Unfortunately, our system will ignore domains such as Hotmail, Gmail, yahoo. You will need to manually link the Organization to the Email if the Organization doesn't have a distinct domain.

    Thanks Nora. Now I know what I'm dealing with. I'd managed to manually link the ones sent from insightly.

    I'll work out how to do it from the ones I sent from the gmail account. Must remember to do that routinely !
