telephone (VOIP) integration with desktop Insightly

Does anyone have experience integrating any soft phone / VOIP / telephony system with Insightly?

I understand the interface can be built from the telephony product end, but have only discovered one product that seems to be doing it. Bvoip https://www.bvoip.com/integrations/insightly-integration-basic I'm trying to follow these guys up, but no luck so far.

There's also some discussion from the Insightly end (see link) but no update since early '16.

  • Hi Peter,

    Try 3CX. They have been around as VOIP integration providers for over a decade, and have a long list of resellers to assist with the installation and ongoing support. 

    Right now they only have an on premise option, but plan to have a hosted solution later this year. 

    Another option is Tenfold, but only if you have a large account (+20 users).

    Much of the conversation was offline but does look like that some of that would be possible. It really does depend on what you mean by integration.

    Another approach is to integrate with the phones. We use Snom phones in our office and, while I have not done this as an integration, I know it is is possible to capture incoming calls and other events that are fired by the phone. That may also be a route you could take.

  • we're a team of 2. what's the simplest thing for us to do to tie in the phone stuff, maybe record call records, track number of times contacts dialed...etc?

  • You need a phone system pbx/voip central to start with and a client to do the integration. 3CX can not do what you want because it can only do one action and add 2 parameters.
    Hosted 3CX PBX is possible now but you need to set it up your self. In Holland we have a provider that ioffers this as a service.

    I am working on a solution to do what you want for my own use where I want to be able to add a comment before adding the note to the contact. I use the API and the 3CX client.
