This contact is an Insightly user so permissions and actions are limited.

After importing our contacts there were 3 separate contacts for my fellow director, that's because we use a few email styles eg john.smith@company.com and jsmith@company.com. Automatically the system started to track emails communications but not all with the Insightly User.

 

I want to merge these other contacts with the Insightly User without losing the email tracking information.

    My issue was with smartmerge. This works fine for all contacts and organisations except those contacts who are "Users". Jessica the article you linked to, showed using Merge Into Contact, and that indeed works when dealing with a User.

  • I have again got my contact details multiple times and they all have emails and activities linked to them.

    The solution WAS to use "merge into" now that has stopped working and even the article has vanished. So I'm assuming you now offer a new way to do this.

    Please provide instructions on how I get duplicates of me merged into me the user.

    User Contact records have different permissions and therefore can not be included when merging records. 

    You may want to check out the Ideas & Suggestions page to see if this has been submitted by another user and add your vote. If you don't find it, you can add a new thread :)

    I'm not sure you understand I did NOT create a new contact your Insightly created it. I need to merge the one that has been added by Insightly to my User one.

    It is something you have done I cannot undo or fix something that your software caused. Therefore, please can you fix this.
