Suddenly cant send emails as its asking for an account and I;ve no idea what the server info is

all of a sudden I cant send an email from Insightly because its asking for an account and I have no idea what info it needs for the "server" details. It used to just allow me to create a new email and use a template I had created - today it allowed me to do that but then the email didnt send - and when I went back to try and re-send the email I was prompted for this info ..arrrgggg

  • Hi Elizabeth, sorry about any frustration this is causing.

Which email option are you trying to connect Insightly to your email? Can you share any error messages you're getting when you go through the set up steps?

If this was working before and you've become unverified you may want to try deleting and re-adding your email account to reset the connection.

  • Hi Lyla ..when I select "New Email" instead of just creating a new email I get taken to "email accounts" and my email account is listed but the verified box is unchecked and I cant check it. So I've deleted it and try to re-add it but i'm getting prompted for the server details which I dont have and pretty sure I;ve never used before

  • Hi Elizabeth,

Could you tell us what kind of email address you have?  Are you using an Outlook account, a Google domain, or something else?  Each email provider typically has a default SMTP server setting that we can use to help setup your account.

Any additional information would be fantastic.  Thank you! :)

  • I'm using office 365 outlook , It was working fine then just stopped. my sys admin says there is no cap on the email account and doesn't know why it has suddenly stopped working.

  • Hi Elizabeth,

It's possible an admin has turned off your Office 365 settings to autodiscover these settings. You'll want to have an Office 365 admin check this in your Office 365 settings.

Also, if you are using an exchange, this will need to be turned on there as well.

If these settings have been turned off from that end, Insighlty will no longer be able find this information.

    Hope this helps!
