100% of File Storage reached - how do I bulk delete files?

I've reached 100% of my File Storage.  I would like to do a bulk delete of files, preferably by oldest.

Looking at other thread, this may not be possible.

I have thousands of e-mails and thousands of attachments so doing this one by one is not an option.

Any tips and tricks?

  • Hi Michael,

One suggestion would be to remove records by (for example) filtering Contacts by record creation date.  In this way, you may be able to back up older records outside Insightly.   You can then import just the records you wish to retain back into Insightly.

If you have your Insightly account linked to Gmail, then in this case you should be able to delete emails from Insightly without those emails being deleted from your Gmail account.

You might also want to consider increasing storage capacity in Insightly, or for good housekeeping in future ensure wherever possible you link files (Dropbox, Google Drive...) rather than storing files to Insightly.   If you take this approach (which we favour) then you just need to ensure your file names and paths remain the same.

Hope this helps, and makes sense :)

    kind regards, Simon

  • Empty the records from your Recycling Bin too.

  • I would love nothing more than to bulk delete files from our system, without deleting contacts, e-mails or organisations. Most of the culprits are e-mail attachments that we have since disabled from being picked up by Insightly, but there are just too many to manually delete one by one for our numerous e-mails.

  • Hello Everyone,

Thank you, everyone, for providing workarounds and feedback!

We currently have a main feature request post on this subject with lots of activity and comments.

You can find the post here.

I suggest adding your comment and vote there this way the more activity a request receives, the more likely it is to be considered for implementation.

    Thanks for your time!
