Webforms

Hello

We are wanting to automate more and have interest in the web-to-lead & webforms -

We currently have a form created in wordpress hosted on our website.  Our form has features like rejection (we can reject unqualified applicants) and multiple choice questions.

Can this type of form be implemented with Insightly to take advantage of the Web-to-Lead feature?

Thanks and have a SUPER day!

  • What plugin are you using to create the form on Wordpress? We also have a Wordpress site and I don't think it is possible to easily add the web to lead functionality to a contact form i.e. a form plug such as Contact 7 which sends on the submitted values to an email address.

Otherwise you can simply paste the Insightly generated HTML into the Wordpress post/page window. You need to change the view from Visual to Text (as shown below) otherwise it will not work.

If you are instead using Visual Composer (within Wordpress) then you can use the HTML element to create your web to lead form. Simply copy the generated Insightly HTML into the VC HTML element and save the page. One thing that didn't work very well though was the text area. I had to change the tag slightly. The generated tag came out as:

    <textarea id="insightly_background" name="background" />

and I had to change to it

    <textarea id="insightly_background" name="background"></textarea>

If I did not do this then I ended up seeing a ton of html in the text area itself.

    Hope that this helps.

  • We are currently using Gravity Forms with WordPress.

If we switched to something like NinjaForms that seems to have better Inisghtly Integrations - Could we bring over our entire application into Inisghtly as a lead with Custom Fields for the application questions?  Sorry for my limited Knowledge.  we are trying to learn and appreciate the help!

EDIT: Additional quick question - Say we keep the form we are using now and I set up the form responses email to have Insightly BCC'd will that automatically create a new lead from the email?

  • I am not very familiar with Gravity Forms so it is hard to comment. The problem is that the web to contact functionality supplies its own text boxes etc. It may be possible to rename the Gravity Form boxes so that they align with the Gravity forms but then it needs to be posted to Insightly whereas Gravity Forms will post the data to itself to store the entries.

There may be ways in which you can post this data on to a third party which is what Insightly needs.

  • Hi Robyn,

I have done the integration from Insightly with Gravity Forms several times and it works well. You will need to have the developer plan on Gravity forms in order to do the integration. You will be able to add custom fields from your form to Insighlty as long as the drop down options match exactly.

If you were to send the form responses via email to your Insighlty mailbox, it will not create a new lead. At this time, Insightly does not have the ability to populate custom fields and such from an email response.

  • I'm assuming that the the Web Hooks add-on for Gravity Forms was used.  Any tips on how to set that up?  Screenshot?

  • I use Webhooks with Workflow Processes and Zapier for Gravity Forms and they work great. I have all sorts of GF add-ons and Gravity Perks and a few other things with Gravity in them. Great fun, very useful.
