Insightly emails caught in gmail spam

I set up my first trial workflow process to auto-reply to new leads. If the lead has a gmail account, it goes to spam. The subject line doesn't have punctuation, and I tried a template without a link in the body and it still happens. They are not getting caught by Office365 spam filter.

  • Hi Robin,

Each server has its own spam settings; unfortunately Insightly can't control that.

  • So basically we shouldn't use Insightly to send emails to gmail accounts?

  • Right, I get that you can't control gmail's servers but I was looking for some tips on how to minimize it, or some troubleshooting into my settings to see if that was the culprit. For instance, I thought that emails were actually sent from my domain once I linked the accounts, but the from address is definitely from insightly.

I'd estimate that about 70% of our leads are gmail users. If there's no workaround then I guess insightly isn't a viable product for my business. I'd be very surprised to hear that other insightly users just shrug off a high likelihood of not reaching their gmail leads.

  • Again, Insightly does have a certain amount of control in this matter. Shrugging it off is disrespectful (at the very least) to your PAID customers.

  • Most of our emails that are sent from Insightly end up in the receivers spam folder. This might be the final issue we experience in Insightly CRM, and that the support/development team ignore, that might force us to leave. That would be too bad. The idea behind the system is great.

When you reach out to the support team they often reply with a standard template that does not address the actually question.

  • Hey Jon,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with emails through Insightly. As stated, these settings are controlled on the individual server level and not something Insightly can control.

These other comments would best be suited to our Ideas and Suggestions page, as this is where our product teams go to find out what our customers want.

The Organization imported will be imported as a Related Linked Organization. This is to help Contacts with multiple Organizations attached to them.

  • Dear Alex and Insightly team,

Please accept my sincerely apologize. The spam issue that we experienced were related to improper setup on our end. The email server where still set to the ISP provider's standard and not the customer whitelabel version of our own domain. We have now adjusted that and the emails seems to be delivered correctly.
