Search & Link Functionality Not Working

We are currently unable to successfully search for or link any newly created record (contact, organization) to a task.

We have tried from multiple computers and multiple accounts, all with the same outcome. Is this a known issue?

  • Mitch,

This is a known issue, and they are working on it. We have the same issue as well.

  • Hi Jessica,

Our Engineering team is working on resolving this as we speak.  In the meantime, the workaround is to edit and save a record that isn't appearing in your linking or search bar immediately.  This should force it to appear when you are using those functions.

I know that's not an ideal solution, but it's only temporary.  Our Engineering team will have a more permanent solution in the future, and we'll let you know once that's been made available. :)

  • Dan,

I just tried the workaround on a test org, and it didn't work. Any thoughts?

  • Hi Jessica,

Could you try making an "edit" when you edit the record?  For example, add a space (" ") at the end of their phone number?  It won't actually change that field, but it will count as an edit in your Insightly system.

  • That worked, thanks!

  • Dan just wanted to let you know, the last few new records I've created this afternoon are linking correctly without the workaround!

  • Thank you for the update, Jessica!

Your records should become available for linking within 30 minutes of creation from now until the permanent fix is implemented.  :)

  • Hi Lyla,

We are experiencing this issue still, I created a project with the word Phoenix in it 1 hour ago, however searching for Phoenix in the add new link box yields no results. Can you please look into this.

  • Apologies for the delay in getting back to you Sam.

We did experience a longer than normal delay on Thursday between adding a record and having it appear in searches, during some routine site maintenance. Your record should be there now but please let us know if it isn't.

  • Is anyone still currently experiencing this issue? I am unable to establish a link between recently created records.

  • Hi Tony,

I've added you to a ticket list so that once the search issue for finding links has been resolved, you will be emailed.

  • We've also noticed issues with this in the past week or so.

  • We'll be sure to update this post once there is a resolution. Thank you all for your understanding.

For now, if you find a record isn't appearing in your search results, you'll want to go to the record > Actions > Edit > Save. You don't have to make any edits, just that process will trigger an update to the search database.

Another thing that may help in the meantime would be to create a custom list view for "Search" (or any name you choose) and for contacts for instance, use the filter row "Contact name contains". Since you can edit the value at any time in our new interface, this can work as a search database specific to that record type.
