Nederland/Netherlands: Syncing/linking to Dutch banks

I am interested in Insightly, however, since I am located in the Netherlands all my businesses are in the Netherlands and I am bound to Dutch banks (ING Bank) and tax-systems. These banks don't link to Xero or the other bookkeeping options Insightly offers.

Are there any users from the Netherlands that have made it work?

  • Hi Bob,

I recommend visiting Insightly's security page and seeking advice from Holger Ahrens or David Ziedman. Both are located near the Netherlands. I met Holger in Germany and I found him to be very knowledgeable on this subject.

    Here are their contact details:

  • Hi Bob,

I am not familiar with the banking system in the Netherlands (I am based in the UK) but what are your specific concerns or questions?

  • The issue is that the book-keeping options (Xero & Quickbooks) do not link/sync with Dutch banks. I am wondering how other Insightly users in the Netherlands have made it work.

  • I think that this is more of a general question than simply a Netherlands question. There are many people who do not use Quickbooks or Xero. How do they integrate. I am not sure. We use Xero.

I guess the next question is what do you want to get out of an integration?

  • I'd say this is a question we can't really help on.

Try to evaluate the HBCI/FinTS parameters of your bank account. Usually this are the fields and parameters a 3rd party app needs to connect to your bank account. Then find out how to set up your account in Quickbooks propperly. Best way is to ask Quickbooks support.
