Work information copied to Organization

I'm in the habit of creating Contacts in Insightly first since I can link or create the organization at the same time. One frustration is that I'll add the contact's work address but this information isn't carried over to the Organization which causes me to have to re-enter it. I realize for some fields like telephone number you may not want it to copy over but the address, at a minimum, would be a huge time saver!

  • Agreed, Michelle. I would love to see the address of the contact automatically added to the company field. Or a check box to indicate that you would like to transfer or add information from the contact to the company.

  • Hi Michelle. Insightly doesn't copy a contact's address to their organization because a contact and an organization don't always share the same address. Thanks!

  • Great suggestion.  I'm just getting started, but I can already see the value in this.  Would be nice if it worked both directions so that if I add a contact with email and cell phone and link them to an organization, the organization address info auto fills.

  • Agree, new to Insightly and understand not always are contacts and organizations the same but a big percentage of the time they are and a check box that would copy over the information would be a huge time saver!

  • I want to add my vote for the feature of checkbox to copy info from contact to organization.

    Also, the idea of integrating these two features makes Insightly less cumbersome.  Example if there are 5 contacts linked to the organization and the organization moves location, I should enter it into 1 place and it would change all.  Bulk edit is one way but it requires yet another screen change.  I prefer to stay in one screen and do my housekeeping there.  It keeps me focused.  It is essential that Insightly try to cut back on unnecessary screen changes.
