More Activities in Activity Set

The idea of an Activity Set and it's connection to a Pipeline is a great one, but it feels limited in the fact that you can only create tasks and events for the Activity options.  It would be great to be able to add other types of activities, like:

  • Changing a field value of the Contact/Organization/Opportunity, both normal and custom
  • Adding/removing tags
  • Reassigning the opportunity after it gets to a certain point

There are probably others, but that's what I could think of at the moment.

  • Ideal scenario:

    I would be able to have a task automatically generated for each Lead or Contact when a set number of days since last interaction have elapsed. The CRM would track all phone calls (via mobile app) and emails. Each interaction would reset the 'counter' of elapsed days.

    Within Insightly, I am currently doing this by creating an Activity Set for each contact time frame. Users have to manually assign a time frame after each interaction. When days have elapsed, the Activity Set creates a task to be completed. I then have to again manually assign an Activity Set.

  • I agree with Ariel. Adding "send email" as type of activity will go a long way together with tasks and events. It would be even greater to be able to assign a specific email template, to whom it should be sent and support attachments.

    I see great suggestions here, dating back about 15 months, but nothing as of this has been implemented. May I please get a an update as to whether these items are being considered for a somewhat future release?

    I am particularly interested in the email functionality as part of the Action Set. Currently, it seems that all I can do is either 1. create a task telling me to email a client about this or that, or 2. Include the client in the project and assign the task to them so they are notified at the appropriate time.

    I don't know if you compare other platforms or not as examples, but 17hats does very well in this arena.
