Link Notes to Opportunities and Organizations

I think it would be hugely beneficial to have a links option for Notes, like everything else does in Insightly.

There are often times we leave notes in an Opportunity that we would also like to have for the corresponding Organization, especially when the info in the note pertains to both the opportunity and info for once the opportunity is closed.

Right now, our work around is to just copy and paste the Opportunity Note into a new Organization Note, but it would be much easier and less work to just link the note to the both.

  • Agree with you 100% here. The simplest way to keep multiple contacts / projects / opportunities together will be to use 1 note for all.

  • Just a quick solution:

    1. copy link of oportunity tab like  https://googleapps.insight.ly/opportunities/details/xxxxxxx#_Notes
    2. place an additional "other" link in company and where ever you need to have quick access to more information

    I wouldn't double content in a CRM ;)

  • That is creative. But now there would be random links, with no titles or context cluttering the contact's/org's/project's links. Long term that would be just as much of a headache as managing the same note across multiple things within Insightly.

  • Damn cool Insightly! Just found the solution:

    Click on title of note and you have a seperate view with a link field... and guess what! You can link there to lot of other objects of all types and have same single information in all places as a reference.

    Done. Next please.

  • yes, we need the ability to write a note at the contact level and then link it to the organization without having to first save the note and then go back and link it.  We can link tasks and events when adding them in, why not be able to link a note too?

  • Agreed, it would be much more efficient to be able to link the note at the same time as creating it. Often times I forget to open up the note again to add the link.

  • Wondering if there has been any update on the linking of notes - I can't even seem to get Holger's solution of May 2015 to work, but it would be much better to be able to link notes at time of creation

  • hi, is there any clue on how to export the report for example opportunity report but with its notes and a column in the excel file that conclude organisation? so I can filter the report based on organisation and see the notes as well.
