Contact cloning

It would be a real time saver to have the ability to "clone" contacts so as to avoid repetitive new contact entry. This would be in the case of addition a new contact that would be linked to an existing organization. It was a great feature that was offered in ACT! and Salesforce when we used both.

    This feature has now shipped and you can choose the "Clone This Contact" option under the Actions menu when viewing a contact to quickly clone a copy of it.

  • Yes!! We moved from ACT! and have used Salesforce and really miss this feature. It is probably the one new feature that would save us the most time.

  • Yes, a clone or copy function would be very useful for Contacts.  Also, I'd find it beneficial for Projects and Opportunities too.  We already have this functionality for Tasks and I think it's a real time saver.

  • Cloning Opportunites would also be a great time saver, and avoid data entry errors.

  • I echo this need.  Perhaps, since the colleage position already exists, call it "create colleage" and pull over all info except for name and e-mail address.  That would be a HUGE time saver.

  • I need this and the ability to clone or copy PROJECTS and OPPORTUNITIES.  Former user of Podio, Zoho and Basecamp.  And right now, Insightly is taking me more time and has the potential to cost me more money without these features.

  • It would be extremely beneficial to have this feature for Organizations as well as Contacts.  We often have multiple Organizations in the same location.  It would be extremely helpful (time-saving and error-reducing) to have this feature.

  • Yes - for me too.  Two instances of the cloned contact show up under the organization.  Nice testing work.
