Set repeating events

Can we have the ability to repeat events so that for example regular meetings can be scheduled in one hit

  • I too have a strong need for repeating events.  For example, I schedule installations for my servicemen on my Insightly calendar.  However, many installations take several days.  I need to be able to put the start and end times and the number of days the installers will be onsite.  Example: Installation begins on Tuesday the 9/29 and goes through Friday 10/02.  Each day the installers are to begin at 9:00 AM and work until 5:00 PM.

Is it possible to simply copy an event and paste it several times to create this recurrent schedule?

  • Hi there @Dan:

There is not a copy or clone event feature but I can see where this might be useful, thank you for adding some additional detail to how a feature like this can help users :)

  • I too would love this feature, it actually may be such an inconvenience that we look into different software. Essentially, we all need to be able to know when individuals are in their various appointments, but i also schedule recurring events from monthly staff meetings, to weekly team meetings, even birthdays and holidays can only be added 1 by 1, it would be great to have a recurrence option.

    Thanks!

  • Need repeating events.

Also need a WYSIWYG editor for the description field in events.

Alternatively allow Tasks to be scheduled for a specific time, in addition to date.

  • Recurring event setup required linked to projects - for example regular project meetings thanks

  • Either the ability to set a repeating "event" or the ability to give "tasks" a start and an end time (since by default you have "meetings" in your tasks section (and who wants a meeting with no end, right?)  Also, on my Droid, if I schedule a task, there is no start time, so to get it on my calendar, it must be an event, which seems weird.  I should be able to schedule a task at a specific time as well.

  • Yes, please add repeating events. This would help us tremendously.

  • I agree with all of the preceding posters. Either repeat events or tasks with times.

    Thanks.

  • Repeating events would be awesome - we increasingly have weekly project meetings with specific clients and having to enter these manually is beyond tedious!

    Many thanks!

  • Please! Repeating events!

This is a big deal for us as well!

  • Agree will all the above comments. I need repeat events and also link files to events too, as well as specific tasks on those events, at specific times etc...

Every Insightly plan should come with complete feature crossovers.

  • +1. This would be extremely helpful. My current method requires I go elsewhere, this would be a big step towards making Insightly more all-encompassing.

  • Every  business I have ever been a part of has reoccurring events. You mean to tell me, we cannot set up weekly meetings on the calendar? What then is insightly a recommended way to achieve this? Surely they have something?

  • Hi there Tom:

Events can not be set to recur in Insightly. Make sure you add your vote for this on the main post at the top, if you haven't already.

  • My frustration level with this issue has been growing. I manage a small team of sales reps, and they follow "call plans".  Anyone who has outside sales reps will know that call plans are the basis for all sales activity.

I'm starting to think that whoever started insightly had no sales experience, and therefore had no idea that this feature is critical to a successful sales process.

I'm starting to think about voting alright.....with my wallet.  Unless this can be resolved, we just won't be able to continue with insightly.

  • Hi Jwilkie,

    I apologize for your frustration.

Some users have mentioned they have been setting up Tasks on repeat as a current workaround.

  • I'm really sorry- but with this topic we are going in circles - the requests and the recommendations are older than a year and they are coimng and going (don't understand really why the are going) - the suggestion to use tasks is as old as the tower in London, BUT it doesn't do the trick - as long as you do not have start and end times with task.

As someone  mentioned above "Recurring Events" or "Tasks with start and end time" ...... and PLEASE not any more circles with

    - oh it's not a bug

    - please put in a feature request (ticket closed)

    - please vote for it

    - why not using tasks

    - sorry for your frustration

    .....................

I wiöö check on when this had been reported the first time and will start to put up birthday candles every year it  :-(((

  • It only makes sense to be able to plan your repeatable events . This is a must have for this program

  • Is there an update on this? I've voted, etc. I can't imagine any business that doesn't have "Weekly _____" (fill in the blank with any number of events). I use recurring tasks, but there's no time for those and I need these events to be blocked out on my calendar so I'm not booked for other things. This seems like a no brainer. At the very least an option to "Duplicate Event" or something along those lines? It's super tedious/frustrating to re-enter the same information week after week after week...

  • I posted the original request and frankly wonder why Insightly bother with asking for feedback, I can't imagine this is difficult to do given it appears in nearly every other CRM systems and given the time they spend adding more and more bells and whistles, many of which don't, in my experience function very well,

    VERY VERY FRUSTRATING

  • I've concluded this forum is a waste of time. If insightly had given some feedback, even it is to say there is insufficient demand for this function, I'd understand, but to get nothing can only lead to one conclusion.

  • Getting nothing is really new. In the past you've got a message to put in a feature request / the ticket got closed ..... and then nothing happened. :-)
The original request for this (there had been quite a few with different headlines, but same result) is roughly 2 years old.
I have given up reporting bugs or suggesting/requesting features.
    Pretty sad 😟

  • I'd have more of a rant about it but as Insightly won't look at it anyway what's the point!

  • Just another proof that it requires more than just a good idea to make something successful.
So the choice is to accept as it is or to look around and test the export functions 😉

  • I'm trying to add daily and weekly recurring events and/or tasks and cannot find a way to do this.  It seems like an obvious requirement for a CRM and I cannot find a way to do it!  Without it, Insightly is of no use to me whatsoever, I cannot possibly create each daily/weekly task/event myself!

    Am I overlooking something?

  • There is indication that it's worked on - seems like it even made it into the roadmap - keep the fingers crossed that it stays there - 2nd half of 2017 ...............could be even Q3

  • Any update on this? Recurring events is an important feature for us and it looks like it is important to others based on this thread and other sources online. Recurring tasks aren't a suitable replacement as they do not allow you to schedule it in at a specific time. We need to schedule recurring phone calls and have them show on our calendars at specific times, so that we don't get double booked. Tasks won't let us do that. Any update would be great!
