Automatically Log Phone Calls Placed by App

I just realized there is a glaring omission to the way that Insightly handles customer interactions.

If I use the app to place a phone call to a customer, Insightly does NOT automatically log that event.  That means that phone call never happened, unless I go into the customer, and create a new task and mark it as a completed phone call.

This seems like a one of the most basic features of a modern CRM.  Knowing when you last contacted a customer.  Especially if you use the app to place that call.

    We have added call logging to our mobile app! Just make a call and Insightly will create a new record that contains important details about the call.

  • You have specific categories within a CONTACT which could be seen as communications with customer -- Notes, Emails, Tasks

    Why not then have  "PHONE CALLS" as a separate category (submenu) similar to notes - they are a specific type (important channel)  of communications that does not usually relate/fit in well as a TASK or NOTE.

  • I want to see this happen too! Other CRM's allow for a notes section to pop up in the app immediately after a phone call is made so you can add any details about the call without having to go to a notes section. The prompting would be super helpful.

    We excited to see this added too. Our resources and priorities can shift quickly so we don't have a specific release date available. As mentioned above this is something currently in our planning stages and we will let you know once things progress further.

  • Any update on this.  I expected call integration...the main reason I enrolled with insightly and even downloaded the app.

    It should automatically log the call if you pull up the lead, click on the phone number, and click the call now button; otherwise, why have this option to call from the lead at all.

    As a small business owner, I do not expect to spend double the time.

     

    This should also happen when an email is sent to someone.

    Voice integration is still in the planning stages and we will be sure to update everyone here.

    You can save a copy of your sent emails when you use your Insightly mailbox address, you also have the option of linking emails  directly to an opportunity or project record. Maybe this option would work for you!

  • I requested this feature about 2 years ago and left insight you when there was no sign of it being made available and because it was already available on cheaper and simpler crm solutions. 

     

    I suspect part of the reluctance on behalf of unsightly is the apple sandbox in and because app developers allow iOS limitations s to dictate the parameters of their apps rather than push against these limitations.

  • I am not going to continuing paying for a program that is not providing me the services I expected.

    I do not have the time, nor am I willing to take the extra time, to double work and go back in and post or save email or copy a task that a phone call was made, especially when I went thru your app to place the call.  Your software should link the two actions together automatically.

    I'm using the "call widget"  function of an app called DW Contacts. It's crm light but works really well and developer is very receptive to suggestions. 

    I'm told zoho has call note option but I've yet to try it properly. 

    If you find something good let me know.

  • Do we have a timeframe for adoption?  This has been an open item for 2+ years.  Is this something near in the future or far out?  Either way I need to find an easy solution to this challenge with multiple mobile phone users and would love the community input on what is working for them.  Thanks

  • It seems the Insightly prod dev team is doing an awesome job with enhancements. However, call logging should be an absolute priority because it is such a truly needed feature. I use Base CRM today soley for it's very tight call integration and logging capabilities, but would switch to Insightly in a heartbeat if I had some info that they were atleast on the verge of making call logging GA. Go Dev Team!
