LEADS TO CONTACTS.... AND CONTACTS TO LEADS.

  1. Whenever you register a new lead, it should automatically turn into a contact.

  2. Also, when you register a new contact it should give you the choice of turning it into a lead before turning it into an opportunity. Plase

  • Hi Dani! I spoke to Product and in the meantime, they recommend the workaround of  exporting the contacts you wish were leads and importing them back into Insightly as Leads. Thanks!

    The export import thing would work but might be a bit much for a non tech savy sales person-end user with phone in hand when the get a new equiry via phone call from an existing client.

    So another work around idea is.. go into the Contact, go to the EMAILS tab, click an email from the contact, and then create a LEAD from that email and update the new lead accordingly.

    might do the job?

    we attend lots of international expositions and have business cards from everywhere.  Some people may have visited a couple years ago but are only now ready to discuss action so the ability to move a contact to a Lead would be very helpful to prevent duplication and wasting time.   

    While I'm at it, why are we forced to use the drop down to find Leads with global search?  End up being another time waster.  Would be great to have the ability to re-order the tabs according to user or account preferences.  The ability to import to Leads without a complete address should also be an option.  Not everyone has a brick and mortar address on their card.

  • We would also like the ability to go to a contact or organization and have the option to "convert to a lead" where all of the information, files, emails, etc transfer over.

    Creating a lead and having to manually enter the info when all of that information already exists in the contact or organization section is frustrating.

    As an alternative, we have just created the leads tag for our contacts that fall into that category.

  • Nora I appreciate this response but there seems to be a feeling from many people that the leads function wasnt well thought out or if was, it turned out to be very narrow with limited application to the greater needs and uses of most users. I think it's introduction has been more trouble that a benefit to both the product and users.
