Emails

Hi. I would find it really really helpful if Insightly would automatically attached emails sent to specific contacts in the database to their company's main profile too.

    We just recently launched Insightly Marketing which is helpful in better keep track of emails sent out and campaigns. If you like to know more about how this can solve for some of your pain points in regard to emailing from Insightly please let me know.

  • Great Suggestion!

    For the time being a workaround is to link the email to your Contact's Organization.

    To do so click on the email available under your Contact > scroll down to Links > type in your previously saved Organization.

  • yes the email solution is the weakest link in insightly so far. And calendar sync for coworkers on google apps not working.

  • Yes, a automatic email integration would be fantastic! As soon as a contact, lead or organization email is sent or received it is automatically linked without a click - like in BASE.

    You can link your received emails within Insightly to a Contact. You would simply click on the email > under Links you can type the Contact name.

  • This is an old post but can't find anything recent to suggest there has been an improvement in this. If there is please point me in the right direction and disregard the below.

    I'm a new user who I don't think would be alone in wanting that when sending an email to a contact, the emails would automatically be saved to any organisation and project/opportunity they are attached to.

    I have the Gmail plug-in and can do a workaround to save and link but that is a couple of mouse clicks that is just annoying when think it should be an automated feature.

    Even more annoying for a client of mine who doesn't use the plug-ins and takes about 5-6 clicks to manually do the workaround described above.

  • Yes, we have tried it out for a while now, and the current "solution" DOES NOT WORK. People just don't add the emails, they might once every second month go through them, but usually NEVER. It's to much a hazzle, and it fells very stupid and unnecessary.

    Currently, at this time we do not have that functionality built into Insightly.

    You will still need to manually link the sent/ received email within Office 365 to the Contact or Organization within Insightly.

  • Automation of this process, (Linking to an organization, opportunity or project any email which is sent to or received from a contact that's already linked to that organization) is a basic function of every CRM I've used going back almost 20 years. Why is it not a basic function of this CRM?

    As someone who knows a little bit about software development, this is an easy fix and one which would save TONS of time and nuisance for your paying customers.

    So....Why hasn't it been developed?

    I'll make it easy for you: Every time a new contact is linked to an organization, have a check box right below the "Add new link" field with the label "Link all correspondence", then just make it happen.
