Custom Number Fields — format and add commas to separate thousands

The custom number fields are great, but it's difficult to read large numbers because numbers aren't automatically formatted and manual formatting isn't allowed by Insightly.

Numbers read: 100000000

Numbers should read: 100,000,000

  • Ah. Good point, Ryan. Thanks for the feedback. We'll make sure it gets rolled up.

  • Also helpful to offer currency as a field type (with and without decimal place)

  • Please have this happen soon.

I regularly deal with numbers that are great than 100. Having them shown with the very common sense comma makes usage so much easier.

At a glance my team needs to know the difference between 4689062 and 469062  or if 3400567 is greater or less then a million.

When the difference between 4,689,062 and 469,062  or if 3,400,567 is greater or less then a million is so incredibly easier.

  • Im with Josh - we really need the formatting updated with the commas.  Very confusing without it.

  • Is this on the roadmap?  If yes, for when?  If not, why not?  This is as basic as it gets.  This is enough to drive me to Salesforce.com and pay their higher price.

  • I agree. Please add this. I looked into possibly using a "text" field and using Zapier to reformat it as a number, however, the Insightly-to-Zapier features are also severely lacking, so I was unable to pull it off that way.

  • I second having a price field with options to either "show total value" or "show average value" or "show nothing" when viewed from a table. This way we can add a "life time value" for organisations for instance and have that field calculated as an overall in the footer/header of the table
