Ability to edit, customize, hide or remove any of the default fields in Insightly

Hi - this would be good. E.g. in our system, "Organizations" are actually "Shops" and would be nice to edit that since the sales force understands that nomenclature better.

Similarly, ability to hide unnecessary fields - such as for us, "Industry" would be good as well.

Thanks!

Hello everyone, last week we released completely revamped Insightly System Settings. New design allows administrators add powerful customization to their page layouts, configure new types of custom fields and much more.

Please head over to our custom fields and page layouts articles to learn about all the new ways you can customize Insightly.

Further, we've added an option to Hide fields with no data. To find that setting head over to System Settings > Page Layouts for one of your Objects and click on a gear icon in the Detail Section.

And if you've missed our CEO webinar last week, here is a full recording.

  • This would be amazing to hide default fields that our company does not use.

  • this would be great. Or even to be able to be able to rearrange the way fields are presented to users so that those they dont want/need to use could be put at the bottom.

  • This would be very helpful. Our business uses different nomenclature and the default nomenclature is confusing for us. And would be great to rearrange the order.

  • Great idea, status is important.

  • Supported.  I'd like to see the address in the Leads view as a column.

    Please add this feature :)

  • I am adopting Insightly for a university research center, so many of the fields are irrelevant.  I would very much like to delete default unused fields for simplicity of use, and to rename some of the ones we use for clarity.

  • Yes!! I have been searching for a way to customize current fields and field groups. To add a address I would like to add a SHIP TO and a BILL TO and even a PHYSICAL ADDRESS,, There is no way to change your current drop downs from home, work, and postal (Titles which are typically used for personal contact information).. is there a way you can change/add commonly used business titles like the ones above?

  • When is this going to happen? It's ridiculous you can see the status or the date the lead was entered. This is basic information that I would expect from any solution handling leads.

  • Having the ability to remove and rename more necessary fields to align with our organizational nomenclature would help us in on-boarding our users.

  • Being able to control the view of the "Leads" page in the desktop version is PARAMOUNT. We really need this feature, as there's more pertinent information than the phone number (to us, at least).

  • Adding my vote. I have recently tried many CRMs to help our sales team. Insightly has everything we need except this one feature. It's a shame because your competition offers a CRM lite called "SalesForceIQ" which allows me to create and customize my "lists" any way I want. If there was one thing I would change about Insightly it would be this. Having this feature would bring the most value to our team out of any other possible features that are upcoming.

We are not in a high volume sales business and are more geared towards account management. "Leads" is not a useful field for us. Opportunities works because we are usually chasing an opportunity that is slowly developing over years in a planning stage and we use that feature as our primary way of tracking upcoming work that we would like to be a part of.

After we've secured the work however, we are just throwing everything into "Projects". If I could customize these fields to be "Opportunities, Initiatives, Managed Rigs" and also customize the data fields that correspond with them, Insightly would remain our CRM of choice for a long time.

As it stands now I am still looking for a CRM that has Insightly's ease of use but also combines this feature. If I find that, I will most definitely take my business elsewhere. Being able to customize "lists" "fields" or whatever you want to call them should be a standard for a professional CRM. Your user base and the industries they serve are just too varied for your current "locked down" fields to cover accurately.

Please consider making this a priority. Thanks!

  • Sooo... is this ever going to be implemented? I'm on the trial now and I LOVE this compared to Zoho. BUT, the fact that these fields can't be edited nor deleted makes me feel like I'm wasting my time on this product. Not having this feature is a big turn off.

  • Completely agree. The current Lead List View is virtually useless.   At a bare minimum, it would be nice to see the Lead Status displayed, as well as sorting the List View by the Last Name field not by the First Name field.  Further, in addition to Lead Status, it would be helpful to have a user defined "Pipeline" process (similar to Opportunities) for Leads that can be displayed in the Lead List View.

  • Definitely need the freedom to remove, hide or edit these fields.  Any custom fields I create automatically show at the bottom of my Contacts page and it's annoying to scroll down past other sections that we just don't use.

  • Voting yes!  Need to be able to group fields that make sense to individual users. Nick name should be a default field.

  • Agree. Not even a response. Considering leaving over this issue / lack of response. And for the 66 people who've mentioned this, there are probably another 10 times that many who have the same feeling but haven't taken the time to login and complain about it.

  • +1. We can currently hide fields with the new user experience and that's great but being able to delete or permanently hide fields at an admin level as opposed to having to manually hide them all each time you bring up the window. A fair chunk of the default fields aren't used by our organisation as we end up relying on custom fields a lot, so also being able to re-order in which order the fields appeared would make it easier to glance at or at the very least quicker to get to the info we need rather than scrolling for an eternity.

I have to echo others in saying it's frustrating that such an easy to use and robust CRM as Insightly is often restricted and lacking any customisation because it's not deemed "valuable" despite the numerous customers asking for it.

  • It is about time, precious time and each time I have to scroll, scroll, scroll to get to the field I need and pass all of the other real estate on the screen just to get to one or two custom fields I need is a waste of time. Please allow the fields to be displayed in the order I want them.  Allowing the addition of a second column on the screen would also save time so I can see more fields at one time.

Just trying out Insightly and this is one of the first "missing features" I encountered.

  • +1 from me.

Ability to customise all fields is important for our implementation of Insightly.

    Thank you.
