Multi select dropdown

Hi,

Can you please add a multi select dropdown option to the custom fields.

Hubspot has this option and it is very handy if a client has multiple entries within the same field.

  • This is something we absolutely need.  Is there any word on this function yet?  I'm looking for an appropriate system and I do like this one so far but no multi-select drop-down may break that.

    There is not a  release date for this at this time. As a workaround, we have seen users duplicate their dropdown menus so that the data can still be captured. Perhaps this could work for you too :)

  • Hi Lyla, still waiting on a good solution. Duplicating the dropdown isn't functional and too much work if you have more data. Because of that reason i opted not to do that. Please consider building this, because this option is a strong one for Hub Spot ... this is free in there online app and very useful.

  • This would be very useful. Right now I have to create multiple 'INDUSTRY" tabs in custom user fields and display them under ORGANIZATION. This is very labor intensive.

  • I currently use Zoho CRM, where this is a feature that they offer.  I would love to switch to Insightly, but I need this to be a feature.  Please add to priorities...thank you!

    PS - There are at least 3 help forums on the Insightly Support website in which this is the subject.  That must be around 40 or 50 people who have asked for this feature, and I can only assume many others need it who are not taking the time to write about it.  Is it really that difficult of a feature to create?

     We appreciate your added thoughts. This unfortunately doesn't have a spot on the immediate roadmap.

    The number of votes and time posted on our Community are just a couple of the things we take into consideration. Other considerations that are taken into account are how hard or easy it would be to develop that feature, how making change can affect the existing infrastructure and what is already in development stages just as a few examples.

  • Thank you, Lyla.  I mostly just wanted to add my vote to the list to ensure that Insightly is aware of the number of users who would find this feature useful or, in my case, imperative.  Your time and thoughtful reply are greatly appreciated.  I will continue to use Zoho until this feature is added, but, I assume, that by being a part this post I will receive updates if any progress is made. Thank you!

  • Hi all, I can see this is a popular requirement. We use Zoho and I was importing my data because of the e-mail features available with Insightly. And whereas it was looking good, my concern now is that the multiple choice drop-down field has no date on the roadmap., And from what I can see, this feature has parallel post topics and they are the largest topics. And the requests started in 2015.

    I understand the option of multiple Yes/No fields from Lyla T., but there is unfortunately a limit to the number of custom fields in each price point, and the absence of this feature consumes a lot of those custom fields up very quickly.

    Ditto, my thoughts exactly. Usually this is just a matter of the user holding down a shift or control key to enable multiple selections. It wouldn't even need to be an option when setting up the field, just a functionality added on the user side with a function key.

  • Because we are limited in the number of custom fields we can use, this is a great option that can allow for multiple selections that only uses up one custom field. Great idea-count me in!
