One Drive for Business

Hi is it possible to change the login the One Drive login from the live login to the onmicrosoft login (O365) so we can link to One Drive for Business files. It would also be great if we could link to a folder

  • At this time OneDrive for Business does not support third party applications such as Insightly. We hope this will be made available soon so that we can offer this to Users such as yourself.

OneDrive's offers a bit more information on their help pages explaining that OneDrive for Business is still a work in progress - https://dev.onedrive.com/odb-preview/release-notes.htm

I'll move this over to our Product Feedback and Suggestion. :)

  • Why isn't this issue clealy labelled?

I understand from the Insightly Team that this is a Microsoft problem to overcome, however the fact that OneDrive integration does not work with OneDrive for Business should be clearly labelled.

Significant decisions we made 3 months ago would have been different if we had known, we might have used Insightly with a different doc storage option.

  • I followed the link in the post from Nora D. and it appears the API is now available for OneDrive for Business?

Would be great if this could happen as I was pretty happy when I learned it could connect to OneDrive then found out not the business version - DARN, so close to being the perfect CMS for us!

  • Hi All,

I really wanted to come to you with better news but after a thorough investigation of the new API, I found out that it still does not correctly support business users in all scenarios and Microsoft is still working on that. So releasing an implementation with the API's current version will only serve to frustrate you.

I am keeping close attention and once it is ready, we will make quick action of releasing its capabilities to you.

Thank you for your patience and for using Insightly!

  • I'm new to Insightly but I've been playing around with the NGSC (Next-Generation Sync Client) for OneDrive. My users all have that client running. The cool thing about it is that you can specify both a OneDrive and a OneDrive for Business account in the same client.

My users all have that client running. The cool thing about it is that you can specify both a OneDrive and a OneDrive for Business (ODB) account in the same client. Some of them have both accounts, most have just ODB.

When I set myself up, all I can access from Insightly is my personal OneDrive. My users who have just ODB have access to their ODB account folders/files.

If you haven't looked at the MS documentation for this NGSC, it's here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Get-started-with-the-OneDrive-for-Business-Next-Generation-Sync-Client-in-Windows-615391c4-2bd3-4aae-a42a-858262e42a49?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Perhaps the .reg files mentioned will help you figure out the enhancement to the API.

I understand this is test software from MS, but I hope our experience helps you.

    Regards,

    Wayne

  • Hi Patrick, thanks. Can you link to a document about this functionality? Googling has only returned results much like this one with users requesting the functionality.

I guess to be more specific, my problem is that I can't seem to access a *shared* OneDrive for Business share. My "individual" OneDrive for Business seems to work OK, but for our use case I normally wouldn't store client information in my individaul onedrive folder, so it's much less useful.

Any documentation you have on shared OD4B folders would be awesome.

    Thanks,
