Custom Fields in the Calendar

I think it's crucial to have custom fields available in the calendar section along with an attachment feature to attach certain files related to the event for a quick view and not only going through various links to organizations to view these attachments.

Also.. most of the events are repeating for next year.. would be nice to select multiple years to create the event for.

    Your suggestion for Custom Fields within calendars is interesting. I haven't seen/heard this request before.

  • Yes it would. I would very much like to use Insightly to manage school bookings. I need a field where I can record and change the groups size. At the end of each day I can then print a report of activity that day and issue invoices from it.

  • I would like to echo this request.

    One of the things we're excited about with Insightly is the marriage of project management and CRM.

    The calendar needs to get a lot more robust to be a legitimate project management calendar.

    We have a retreat center and are managing a wide variety of events -- different types, times, durations, etc. in addition to a complex staff calendar. 
    I would very much like to be able to define different calendar fields/categories in addition to "My Events" "My Tasks" and "My Milestones" -- this is great for a CRM but not even close to what a real project management calendar should include.

    Take a look at Basecamp's calendaring - super easy, super flexible.

    The calendar limitations in Insightly are the first disappointment I've hit as I've begun to explore it, actually. It's a great system - sure would be wonderful to get the calendar up to the same level of sophistication as the rest of it.

  • Yes repeat event and a field for adding files to an event. Also the ability to color code events, not just by milestones task etc

  • So one of the major advantages of Insightly should be to help reduce data entry points yet it is all connected. I am currently requiring my sales team to only use calendar and opportunities, so more time on road less paperwork. Workflow is as follows: sales enters calendar appts, logistics (location/time/contacts) , and appt goals.  Then I need a custom field that captures results of the appt and another field with action item or easy place to add a task. All these are links and from here , sales can create opportunity as it progresses. Then as a manager I can help assess how many visits to get to oppt and how many to close and etc. Please let me know how or who as an insightly partner could help get these in. Its critical to overtaking SalesForce and Pipeline and others. Insightly is on edge but needs to think like sales person. Thanks for any help.
