How to handle when a contact changes organizations?

What have you found to be the best method to handle the situation where a contact changes organizations? I would like to be able to retain the full history for the contact, so it seems like simply adding an organization and updating contact details might be the right path, but there does not seem to be a way to indicate which organization is active. An alternate path would be to duplicate the contact and link to the new organization, but we have the same problem of not knowing which contact organization is current. Best practices from the Insightly hive-mind?

  • I have seen others in the Community link the additional Organization and within the Role/Title indicate the role but also enter in a year or the word "Current" or "Active" in order to identify the Organization the Contact is with.

    It's not ideal but it seems to work. :)
