  • Just got the beta rolled out to our instance - blown away by its awesomeness. But I suppose you'll want more details other than awesome.  ;-)

  • I'd love to get access to this ASAP because it affects a pending import of new data and how I define the fields, etc. Since I do not yet seem to have the beta (although I registered just this morning), is there anything that describes the capabilities I will have once the beta rolls out to my instance?

  • Hi Karen!

Looks like you have the new reporting available in your account now :) Not sure if you've taken it for a test drive yet but there are a ton of ways to filter all your record types.

We don't have a list of all the combinations available yet but will get them into our Knowledge Base once this is all finalized.

  • I assume that we should provide our beta input in this discussion thread. If there is some other method for collecting, please advise.

I would really like to have the ability to perform simple operations in the reports. For example, to be able to produce an opportunity report that calculates the estimated value of each deal (i.e. bid amount times the probability) and then sum these estimated values to get the total estimated value of all open opportunities.

Also, when exporting a report to Excel, the numeric data is delivered as text and must be converted to numerals. For some fields, like bid amount, this seems to be unwarranted. Why not just export as numeric?

  • Hi karen! By chance, did you get the confirmation email letting you know that we've turned on the new version of Reporting for you? The email will contains the Beta Reporting Guide which has a video overview, FAQs, and a link to the Excel spreadsheet where you'll leave your feedback which the Product team  reviews. Let us know. Thanks!

  • Brenda,

I would really like to help beta test the "New" reporting for Insightly.  Did you get my request from this weekend?  I followed the link in your original post but I have not heard anything back yet.

    Thanks!

  • Any estimate on when the feature will be available? I'd love to be added to the beta if there is still an opportunity. I'm adding 10 new users to our account today and creating reports rather than using filters as a workaround would be a huge help.

  • Thank you, very excited to start building! One thing I noticed that is available through filters but not reports is the ability to filter using Tags.  Is that something we can expect to see in the future?

  • Hi Michael:

We do hope to add Tags to future versions of our reporting tool. We hope you enjoy working with what we have created so far!

  • Hi Kristin:

We haven't moved the reporting options, that's odd that you no longer see it. Can you send a screenshot of what you are seeing on the reports page?

    Thanks!

  • +1 for adding tags.

We mark all those who are interested in our products with a tag for each product as well as a tag for those who have bought a product. This works fine if we segment in the organisation view.

However as soon as we want to see all those who use our products in, say the US or another country the we are not able to do this.

Having this built into the reporting is definitely the way to go!

(Advanced reporting looks great by the way)

  • Glad you like it David!

There is a thread specific to Tag Reports here, if you would like to add your vote :)

  • Great work!  This is a huge step forward in the usability of data in Insightly.  One quirk I'm noticing though is that with opportunities it sorts pipeline stages alphabetically, not sequentially.  This makes the data a bit confusing to wade through as I have to scroll up/down/up/down to get a picture of pipeline flow.  Any chance of getting that ironed out?

  • Thanks for the love brian.aquadro :)

I recommend adding your request for Pipeline sorting as it's own Product Feedback topic, so other users can vote and comment. That helps us to prioritize features as we continue to build out the product.

  • I recently began using Insightly for my CRM and found Advanced Reporting to be of great value, well done on a valuable feature addition. Only additional capability that would be great to have is creating Graphs from the Advanced Reports within Insightly (i.e. instead of exporting data to excel).
