Merge Duplicate Projects

It would be great if we could merge Projects when they have been accidentally created twice, especially when lots of data has been input.

  • Hi Katy

When can we expect the function for " merge project" taken place?

If possible all the files, emails and contact can be save into merged project (hoping no loss or error for the docs contact email- cross finger), no need yet for merge the contacts emails and files (if possible that would be great!)

  • I too would like this feature. I see that I started a Project for the same item twice. I have most of my files in one of the projects and several others in the second project for the same thing. Would be great to merge the two saving me the time checking what file/e-mail went into which project.

  • Don't forget to add your vote at the top, if you haven't already. With more support and votes this can be moved for consideration in the future.

  • Thanks Melissa who pointed out this thread to me.  Yes, I need this too.  I started another post asking for the same.  I hadn't seen this one before Melissa pointed it out.

  • This is going to sound like a stupid question - but am I clicking the 'heart' at the top of the page to vote or is that just a 'like' for the comment.  If so, how do I know I've voted or better still, how do I vote.

Lyla, you say click on the 'up arrow' to vote.  Where is it? I can only see a heart.

  • Hi Mark,

Good catch - We recently changed from the arrow to a heart! Just click on the heart to add your vote on this and anything else you want to share your support for :)

  • If it is not on the Insightly roadmap now, what do you suggest for a workaround?  Clearly there is a demand for some kind of solution.

  • One more person interested in this feature.  Will you please include in the roadmap and let us know when it will be delivered.

  • This would be a useful tool.  Provided the notes files and emails etc could also be compared to select unique data prior to merging.  otherwise the duplication will be pushed another layer deep

  • Hello,

Please review my blog article and tutorial to learn more about on my workaround for merging different record types.

    Thank you,

  • There really needs to be a merge capability for opportunities and projects. It should have the ability to determine duplicate files and/or different versions to allow keeping/replacing different files.  I am surprised this is not a standard function out of the gate.
