  • While your data is secure, Insightly does not have individual data retrieval or back up system built in but this in our road map for a future add-on.

You can export your data in an XML or CSV files as a back an individual backup option for yourself for now. You can find step-by-step instructions in these articles.

  • Hi Lyla,

Thank you for your reply. I had exported and kept a back up file which I tried to restore, a message was generated that 'duplicate records'. This means that the records are present in the tool but still I am not able to see it from the dashboard. It is showing me 0 opportunities in the Dashboard.

Can you help me to sort this ?

    With Regards,

    Sakar

  • Hi Sakar- I'm sorry you're having trouble with this.

I show you have 50 Opportunities under your account. Can you share a screenshot where you are seeing 0?

  • Hi Sakar!

It looks like you don't have Administrative access under your account which is why you're not able to see System Settings. You can either ask the Administrator of your account to set up the pipelines and staging for you or you can ask them to provide you these permissions.

Administrators (paid and unpaid accounts) - Can change system settings and permissions, add/delete users, and access billing functions, such as changing credit card information or viewing invoices.

*You can have as many Administrators as you would like per account.

  • Hi there,

We have some exciting news! If records are accidentally deleted, you can use the new Recycle Bin to to recover, retrieve, or undelete them. Read our How to restore or remove items from the Recycle Bin help article to find out how.

  • I have what appears to be a mystery disaster. This morning, all of my data is gone. The only thing showing up are a couple of items from the original day one setup.

    My Name: Douglas Barnes
Company Name: DA Barnes Group, LLC
    Domain: dabarnesgroup.com
    Instance ID: xxxxxx

What do I need to do in order to get my data back?

  • Hello Douglas,

Sorry to hear that. I've gone ahead and removed your instance ID # for now since this is a public forum.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with that. It sounds like your issue could be related to your web browser. To check if it’s the browser, can you try accessing the page with a different browser than the one you have been using? We recommend Firefox or Chrome and make sure that you've updated your browsers to the latest available version.

If it works in another browser, I suggest logging out of all accounts, clearing the original browser’s cache, then signing back in to see if that resolves the problem. Here are the instructions for how to clear your cache; we've included instructions for all popular browsers, so regardless of which browser you use, we've got you covered:

    Chrome
    Firefox
    Microsoft Edge

I hope that helps. If not, let me know which operating system and browsers you've tried and I'll continue to investigate. Any additional details about the steps you're taking will also help us troubleshoot for you.

  • Alejandro,

I didn't do any of that but after about 45 minutes of panic, everything just came back by itself. Needless to say, I did a data backup immediately.

    Thank you for the recommendations.

  • Hello Douglas,

That is odd and shouldn't happen. If it does happen again please let me know and we can further investigate this on our end.

  • Alejandro,

This happened again today and I tested with different browser and that was okay. I don't know how it fixed itself yesterday but, at any rate, it does seem to be a browser issue.

  • I have not ever seen this problem until September 2019. I have now experienced this using Firefox as well. It seems to come and go. I have attached a screen shot while using Firefox today.
