My client is receiving spam. How do I fix this problem on her Insightly account?

She has a form on her website. She is receiving spam. The message she receives starts off with ... Insightly has received a new contact from your web to contact form. and then there is a spam message. Is there any way to avoid this?

  • Hi Taktest1-

Unfortunately, our Web to Contact has no spam filtering at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • It's super disappointing that Insightly has known about the contact form spam problem for so long and yet apparently has done nothing to address it. I get at least 1 or 2 spam messages per day, which is probably very low compared to a large site but is much higher than when I was using a different contact management system. Also I find it incredibly ironic that signing up for Insightly support requires a recaptcha but you don't offer this for your Web to Contact form. Very, very disappointing.

  • Agree completely with Elizabeth Hanes! Can this really be that hard to do? All other solutions (Zapier, Wufoo, Ninja forms, API development) cost money and time to create. Please put spam filtering in the queue of items that are important.

  • Hi Aiden,

Adding reCaptcha to a webform is a relatively easy process, provided you have a base understanding of HTML and are comfortable with web development.  Unfortunately, we cannot provide direct support to help you set this up, as HTML coding and web development fall outside the scope of what we're able to help with in Insightly Support.

With that said, there are plenty of guides out there to help you add reCaptcha to your webforms.  When I searched for guides, I found this site which looked like it might be very helpful.  I'm not sure how much it will help you directly, as it will depend largely on how your website has been coded, but there are resources out there that can help you.

  • Thanks Dan, I'll take a look. But you guys need to do more (if its easy process why dont you provide it!) and make this more known and have more references / resources to a solution.

    Thanks anyway!!

  • My pleasure, Aiden!

I think the primary reason we don't provide links to guides like the one I sent you is because every website is different and different approaches will require different implementations, and we don't want to point you to a solution that ends up not being right for your business.

That said, I've forwarded your feedback to our Product team.  Thank you for your understanding, Aiden! :)
