Android App: No Links to Tasks

When I look at my list of Tasks in my Android app, it shows every task with "No Links" If I open a task and look at the Links tab, the link is clearly there. When I choose the "Back" button, that particular task now shows the link, although the other still say "No Links". If I refresh the task list, all of the tasks once again show "No Links", even the one I looked at which updated itself in the task list.

  • Hi Scotty, yes, we are aware of this issue. We are going to change the way we present links in the task list view in the next Android app release. Instead of attempting to display all links for a given task, we'll only highlight links to either projects or opportunities in the case where a task is associated with a stage in a pipeline as presented in the image attached. Otherwise links won't be displayed.  Let me know what you think of this approach.

  • Hmmm... well, the issue I have with that is I have tasks generated automatically via an Activity Set. Currently, you do not have a way to automatically add the name of the Lead, Contact, Opportunity, etc. into the title of the task, so my Tasks have titles like, "Initial Outreach", "Follow Up Call", etc. The problem I'm having is I see these task titles on the app and I don't know who I'm reaching out to or following up with. If you take the links totally away, that doesn't help.

What I'd REALLY prefer is being able to use placeholders in Activity Sets to insert information into the task title based on linked records. So I could put something in the title like:

Follow Up with [Contact: Firstname] [Contact: Lastname]

    or

    Schedule Mtg with [Lead: Fullname]

    or

    Reconnect with [Opportunity: Company]

Something like that. Otherwise, leave the link info in the Task list and make sure it displays properly.

FYI, Here's how my task list looks (no bueno):

  • Also, I'm a one-man show. I don't need to see who the items are assigned to. It'd be great to be able to select what information is displayed.

  • Thank you, Scotty. This helps tremendously, I really like your idea of adding a record name in the task name if part of the activity set. No promises, but will definitely look into this proposal and will keep pondering how we should display links to records in the task view.
