Email draft auto save

Seeing a five or 10 minute email turn into 30 or 45 minutes because interruptions caused the program to lose the email I was writing could not be more frustrating or more avoidable. I know you can write into the program some form of draft folder because the increased productivity produced by unsightly  is negated when one is forced to type and then retype and then retype again a simple email.

  • I agree.  It's perplexing that there isn't a email draft save feature.  Auto-save would be a bonus but even if you had the ability to manually save an email draft it would be a huge help.

  • You get my vote.

Here is a suggestion for a possible workaround :

Compose a draft e-mail and cut and paste the text into the Note section of the organization/contact/lead etc. It will then be avaliable when you neeed to go back

  • I just lost 40 mins writing an email, added a contact, and it all disappeared! You need to add an auto-save for draft emails in Insightly. Extremely frustrating. Insightly is meant to save, not waste, our time.

  • I'd like to add our support to this request - we use the email function a lot, for both one-off and template based emails.   It would be great if drafts could auto-save :)

    kind regards, Simon

  • When will this be added? I found that I could "Save Changes" to an individual email (vs. a template) - see screenshot below - but then when I went back in, I couldn't find where, if anywhere, it had been saved. Will this feature ever be fixed??

  • Hey Kathleen. Can you show us where in the app you saw this Save Changes button? This is not a feature Insightly has at present. If a draft is saved in a program such as Gmail or Outlook, that draft will not transfer over to Insightly.

  • Alex S -

I have included multiple screenshots of this in my comments on this thread to show you where I am seeing this. It is in the Insightly app, not in Gmail or Outlook or any other email platform. If you are unable to see the screenshots, can you please let me know a better way of getting these screenshots to you? Thanks!

  • Yes Lyla -

I realized after the fact that there were a couple of different threads going on this.

  • I'm only new at Insightly but surprised not to find a draft email feature. I frequently need to refer back to the Contact or Organisation for relevant information while writing my email (not information that I include in a auto populating field) and the ability to save a draft while I gather the information would be very helpful. You have my vote.
