How to Disable Auto Creation from Emails.

I set my work email to a forward address so all my emails get sent to Insightly. Every email i get automatically creates a contact and an organization. So any spam mail I get will automatically be saved as an organization. Can this be disabled this feature?

  • This thread has been active for a year and a half and you people still haven't fixed this ****? Who in God's name is head of product at Insightly?

    Sorry to hear you're so frustrated, but as has been stated by my colleagues previously in this thread, there are no plans to update this feature at this time.  If you'd like to request this for a future update, please feel free to go to our Ideas & Suggestions page and post your request there. :)

  • Hello everyone, wanted to provide a response from the Insightly product team specific to our Email Add-ons / Sidebars.

    We've heard from all of you that ability to selectively / optionally save Contacts or Leads upon email save to Insightly is important.

    1) As a result, last October we've released our brand new The Insightly Sidebar for Outlook, with that very feature -  selective save of Contacts or Leads (rather than automatic) and it received a a lot of popular response from the Outlook users.

    2) Now onto The Gmail Sidebar. We are currently working on a brand new version of the Sidebar for Gmail. This new version will be using Google's latest tech,  will be browser agnostic (will work beyond Chrome) and will work on on your Android smartphones. We do not have an official timeline for the release, but will keep you up to date. Please note that this new Sidebar for Gmail will be released in phases and optional create of Contact or Lead will not be part of the very first release. This is due to the limitation on the Google side. Once Google releases deeper support of Email Save functionality, our goal would be to ship this requirement.

  • How do we set the default choice to be "Don't Add"?  As it's currently set up, every time people save an email our employees need to change all the "Contact" selections to "Don't Add."  When you save emails that have a multiple people CC'd, the time adds up.  And if someone doesn't remember to check "Don't Add" then our contacts list starts getting polluted and requires time to clean.

     

    How do we address this?
