Ability to Hide Unused Default Fields

Hi,  We desperately need to be able to hide default fields.  At the moment there are quite a few that we don't use, and when we are training staff it is very messy to have to continually TAB through to the fields we do use.  If we could hide those fields, then our custom fields could run alongside our script.

Is this possible in the near future?

Hello everyone. You can now hide fields no value on your details view.

We just released a brand new design of System Settings with new feature set that let's you customize Insightly interface, pages and fields. Take a look at this article.

  • Hi Robyn,

Thanks for submitting your suggesting for this feature. This is not on our current roadmap so it's unlikely to have this option available in the near future; however things may change if we see more support for this feature.

  • There are a heap of other people's posts suggesting the same thing.  Either the ability to hide default fields or rename them, and all with a lot of votes.  So I think there is a lot of support for this feature already.

  • Hi Robyn:

Once in awhile we do get a couple of posts that are similar. We get a lot of ideas and it's great! The platform we are on doesn't allow merging of posts but Insightly staff does see each vote and comment that comes in.

Votes and comments are just one of the factors that are taken into consideration when prioritizing suggestions we receive through our Community. This article that goes over the next steps for the suggestion.

  • Let me second Robyn's comments.  We are having the same issue on our end.   We have a bunch of fields that we do not use, do not want to use but we are forced to look at.   This is more than inconvenient it makes the UI look bad because there are fields that we so not want our staff to use.  Please consider giving the user the option to hide these fields, this way we can streamline the look and keep it very simple.

  • + 1 vote on this -- Ever since unpopulated fields became visible our records have been a mess. It's unruly to search for information in a sea of empty fields. I liked viewing my records from Insightly because it was clean and precise. However, I'm now frequently exporting records to a CSV in order to arrange and view the pertinent information.

Please consider adding an optional hiding feature or return to hiding unpopulated fields by default.

    Thanks!

  • Hiding unused fields really needs to happen!  I spend too much time scrolling past empty, unused default fields.  It's really inefficient!

    Thanks!

  • agreed!!!! it makes our staff even less likely to adopt and use, because when reluctant staff see all these blank fields, and worse, our most important data in custom fields at the bottom of the contact record, and it feels like you're not using a great product.  Dealing with staff's feelings is super important in adoption.  it's a behavioral thing.  Please consider this important feature.

  • This has got to happen Insightly. Even most basic CRMs allow administrators to hide unused fields.

  • I absolutely agree. This is enough to make me not continue with the trial, even though we have invested a lot of time into the platform. Like Julie says ...the data most relevant to our business is hidden. How many businesses really need to know the assistant's number? This could easily be a custom field itself....
