Saving Emails to Insightly

 I have never had a problem saving emails to Insightly through my business gmail account. However, recently, I have not been able to save any outgoing messages from me to clients. I am still able to save their incoming emails. Help!

  • Hi Victoria,

    I love that Insightly has the ability to save emails received from clients! 

    Have you tried using the unique email link that Insightly adds to Projects and Opportunities?  When you send, forward, CC, or BCC emails to that unique address they are automatically linked.  If you only need the email linked to the client, you can send the email via the emails tab and it will automatically link to them that way as well.

    We as a company are having the same problems! We have registered a ticket #132774 on 20th June and have not received a response!

    We normally do not have a problem when saving emails into insightly. We can currently save all incoming emails but can no longer save any outgoing emails. It mentions as error saving of " email not found".

    The answer you gave to the above lady's reply unfortunately does not help us! I believe there is an error in the system somewhere.

  • Hi Belinda,

    I just tried some tests to see if I'm getting the same error.  I tried both ways -  sending and saving an email from within Insightly using the unique link, and from Gmail using the "send and save to Insightly" option.  For now both methods are working me. Hopefully other users will chime in and let us know if they are having issues too!

    Are you using the Gmail Gadget when you get the "email not found" error? We have seen this and are looking into it. We'll be sure to update you here. In the meantime you can forward the email into Insightly to save a copy.

    We as a company are now having issues where we can no longer save incoming or outgoing emails!

    Is anyone else having this problem?

    Unfortunately this is causing us major problems as we are unable to keep a track on important emails.

  • Belinda, you have to download the new Insightly Sidebar. I discovered this ONLY through the "help" section on the Insightly website. No one notified me, as a business user, that they are outdating the Insightly Gadget for Gmail.

  • Hi there,

    I am also having the same problem and it is most frustrating!!!!

    My outgoing emails are not being saved - I click on the gadget to the right and it changes the insightly icon from orange to grey but when I go to link and save it rolls over and does nothing!

    I then go straight into Insightly and look for the email under the email tab and I cannot see it even when I search for it.

    Please respond ASAP!

    Please provide a screenshot to show any error message you may be receiving. It seems like you are referring to the Insightly Sidebar is that correct?

  • I continue to have this problem in both the emails FROM a lead/project contact etc and TO (from our email) 

    It was working fine, and suddenly now NOTHING will save. And all the google app says is 'Error' :(  No link to try to fix or details of WHY an error.  

    Using the sidebar/ google ap. and it just decides to STOP working.

    Frustrating.

    Can you provide a screenshot showing this error message? Also, include a screenshot to show how you are attempting to link emails into your Insightly Account.

    Sorry I am unable to get a screenshot.
    It merely flashes a small box (for about 3 seconds) on my gmail that says "An Error Occurred" 
    It ALWAYS happens on my own emails to the Lead and occasionally happens on the Lead's emails.

    Not to worry!

    It sounds like your issue could be related to your web browser.

    To check if it’s the browser, can you try accessing the page with a different browser than the one you have been using? We recommend Firefox or Chrome and make sure that you've updated your browsers to the latest available version.

    If it works in another browser, I suggest logging out of all accounts, clearing the original browser’s cache, then signing back in to see if that resolves the problem.
