Cannot delete TAGS

The DELETE TAG and RENAME TAG don't work. 

Any idea? Is it a bug?

  • For me it works perfect in Contacts section. Where does it not work for you and in what setting?

    I'm using a Mac and tried to replicate on my own account with Chrome and was unable to. What other browser did you try? Can I access your account to see if I'm able to replicate?

  • Yes, you can access my account, you can rename/delete the TAG  "Aula CM" for example 

     

    (I assume you can access via system, i.e. you have my credentials)

  • Using Safari apparently I get a pop up window to delete/rename ... but my main browser is Chrome... how can we fix that?

    Thanks for following up.

    When attempting to delete the Tag I received a confirmation message:

    Have you been receiving this message? If not, please check your settings for pop ups.

    It sounds it's an issue with your browser. Make sure you're using the most current version of Chrome.

    We've tested this on our end with Chrome and are not able to replicate. Unfortunately, we can't continue troubleshooting on our end since it's been determined it's your browser.

  • Try to disable all extensions in Chrome. Or start an incognito window to login and see if it works that way.

  • Good point Holger...  in incognito mode it works perfectly, so there is an interference with the Chrome extensions, I don't really have many of them, is there a way to fix the conflict?

  • I removed the extension for bit.ly y now insightly works fine. Thanks again to all the people who helped with comments

  • I have this bug too. I've tried all the above clearing cache, i've used Safari, Mozilla, Internet Ex and Chrome all have the same issue, the problem is i cannot select the tag, it is greyed out??? Any ideas?

  • Grant, have you tried to remove some of your chrome plugins/apps?

    I had a plugin for emoticons generating some type of conflict.  No ides if it's a problem of Insightly or of the Plugin, but there was some interference there

  • hi, i'm beginning to think it may be a separate issue, it's across all our machines, and all browsers, Mac & PC.we cannot select the Tag to delete it?

    See the 'G' tag in the image.

     

    Any further thoughts?

    Does anything occur when you click on GD? The name of the Tag not the letter G?

    Can I have permission to access your account to verify if I can replicate?

  • Yes we can select the GD tag and this works appropriately.

     

    I have spoken with my administrator and this tag appeared after they added the incorrect tag then deleted it prior saving the record. Will this help you fault find the bug?

    Are you trying to delete the letter G that appears in front of your Tag? This is a directory label and can not be removed. This is how it appears when you have multiple Tags applied to your records.

  • I am having a similar issue, and I think I know the cause, but I don't know the solution.

    When importing contacts through Excel, I used "Contact Tag 1" or "Contact Tag List" to import a column of tags, but on multiple lines within the Excel cell. Now, I can not delete the tag at all. It is obviously getting stuck in some loop, as the progress bar slowly goes across the top and then never does anything.

    I've tried on Chrome (both regular and Incognito) and IE. The red tags in the image below are the ones that cause the problem.

    In Excel it looked like this (within a single cell):

    EN>TR

    TR>EN

    HE>TR

    FR>TR

  • Hi Jody:

    To have these Tags import separately you'll need to enter them into the cell separated by a comma like this:

    EN>TR, TR>EN, HE>TR, FR>TR

    This way each tag is identified as it's own entity.

    As far as deleting the Tag, can you share your steps? Also, if you haven't made many changes to these records you can delete the import to start over. If you need help setting up your data before importing into Insightly we have templates available here.
