Gmail "Undo" and Sidebar compatibility

Hello, I have the Insightly Sidebar installed and I cannot get the "undo" feature in gmail to work properly.  It seems as though it bypasses the Undo feature and simply sends the email right away.

How do we restore use of the Undo feature, and use Sidebar at the same time?

Thanks!

Alan

  • Hi Alan,

Can you send me a screenshot of how you have the "undo" enabled? I have the Sidebar set up and was able to undo an email. Can you check you settings?

    To enable Undo Send:
    1. Click the gear in the top right .
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Scroll down to "Undo Send" and click Enable.
    4. Set the cancellation period (the amount of time you have to decide if you want to unsend an email).
    5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

  • Hello Nora,

This must have been a temporary issue, it is working today.

    Thanks!

  • Oops!  I spoke too soon :P

It's been working correctly all day, but I just clicked the "Orange Insightly Square" and it didn't offer to "undo"

  • In fact, that email still shows an "Orange Insightly Square" next to it, which makes me think it also didn't save the email to Insightly.

  • OK I just tested it out by creating a new conversation and sending it to my personal email address. I clicked the Orange button and it instantly sent the email, no option to Undo. Also, it still shows an Orange square (not gray) next to the sent email.

When I check the Insightly website, the test email is there. It appears the plugin is malfunctioning.

  • Hi Alan,

Can you send me a screenshot of how you have the "undo" enabled and a screenshot of how the Sidebar (orange square) is appearing for you?

  • Nora,

Please note, the Undo feature works most of the time. Occasionally, it doesn't work. I don't turn the feature on and off, it's always turned on.

This is the Orange Insight Square I'm referring to...  My understanding was that when I click the Orange Insightly Square to SEND to email, that it would turn into a Gray Insightly Square in this location, to indicate the email was saved at the time it was sent. Is that correct, or do I have to click it again to make it turn Gray?

  • Hi Alan,

The orange Insightly button is to Save the email into Insightly. You may want to try to disable and enable to app to see if that may help refresh it for you.

  • Hello Nora,

I will clarify what I'm talking about...

There are 2 different orange squares.

1 is the "Send and Save to Insightly" orange box that appears while composing an email.

I am clicking the orange button to both "send and save" the email at the same time.

The second orange box is what appears After the email has been sent:

This is the "Save to Insightly" button.

Obviously, it's for saving emails that weren't saved at the time they were sent. However, I had already clicked the orange "Send and Save to Insightly" button when I sent the email.

I'm confused as to why the button stays orange, basically asking me to save it again.

Is this how it normally works? Or is it supposed to turn gray after clicking the orange "Send and Save to Insightly" button?

If it's working how it's supposed to, then please help me learn how to use this correctly.

As it stands, the orange button only turns gray when I click it After sending an email. This works for incoming emails, but why do I have to click it twice for outgoing emails?

If you need more clarification, please let me know. Thanks!!
