Setting up email

Hi,

I am trying to set up my email from insightly.

 

I go to 'Add Email Account | Other', then add the SMTP server as requested. It connects at this stage, and sets the port number as 25, but I cannot access the field to alter this (it is greyed out).

I have copied these details from my email setting in Windows Livemail. This indicates that the Port number for the SMTP server should be 587, but Insightly will not let me change it.

When I try to connect using the Windows Livemail setting, I get 'The Username and Password you supplied was not correct'. I have checked with me email provider, and they have confirmed the details I am using are all correct (apart from the Port number).

I am not sure what to do ?

  • My IT techonologist gave me the SMTP address and my user password for my company email, it keeps saying that user name or password are wrong, he is telling me he needs to talk to one of you guys to ask you some questions.

    Please provide the require support , I am paying for 3 subscribers of my company now, I would appreciate your immediate help

  • Also it would be great if you could have options for sub-tasks and further "children" for the sub-tasks. Otherwise your program is very good

    I'm going to open a support ticket for you so you'll be getting a separate email from Insightly.

    I also see that you've added feature request for sub-tasks on our Ideas & Suggestions page. This is the best place for you to add your thoughts for feature improvements. This post  What happens when you post an idea to our Community goes over what is done with these ideas after you add them.

    Can you share the error message you seeing, your email service provider and the SMTP Server you are entering?

    The username and password you supplied was not correct.

     Add Account

  • Hi I am having the same issue with password and login name not correct.  I have another browser up on the outlook webapp and checked my credentials and all is good opening it there but using other it will not work.  BTW another guy in mu office tried and he was able to get it to work the first time.....unfortunately he is not the guy that is going to buy the software

  • Hello Peter,

    Can you clarify the exact issue you yourself are having when attempting to set up your email account in Insightly? If possible please provide a screenshot to show any error message you may be receiving. Have you also asked for assistance from your email administrator?
