Panda doc integration

We are test driving the panda dock integration and or having no luck whatsoever.

We follow the instructions, about adding tokens to a Google drive template, then import that template into panda doc. The tokens were using were copied and pasted, directly from the instructions: [Contact.First_Name] [Contact.Last_Name] of [Contact.Organization].

We created roles for the template, of agency and client.

When adding a panda doc from the docs tab on an opportunity, with the linked content, we would've expected these tokens to be recognized and auto filled. They are ignored. I feel like the directions have been followed to the letter but the results say otherwise. What am I missing?

Here's a screen cast demonstrating the problem: https://youtu.be/vcNN59SOuQM

  • Hi Mark,

  • Hi Mark,

I was able to reproduce the issue and it seems to me that a template created by uploading from GoogleDocs has some editing restrictions and PandaDoc doesn't seem to be able to identify the tokens within that uploaded document. I have reported the issue to them and will let you know as soon as they get back to me.

In the meantime, to work around this you can create a blank template and just copy over the content of your GoogleDoc. That will definitely work. To ensure that it has, the tokens in the template should be highlighted (Please see attached)

    Thank you for your patience!

  • Hello Again,

I have pasted PandaDocs reply here and their contact information in case you had anymore questions.

    Patrick,

Hello again. From the video, they created the template via Google Drive. This will not work with our system to use with the integration.
In order to use "tokens" to pass data over from Insightly to PandaDoc, You have to login directly into PandaDoc > New Template > Create.
Then use Roles to setup contact information and then use the Tokens we have on our Integration FAQ.

Questions, please ask the client to reach out to us directly.

    Thanks,
    James Marketon
