Pandadoc Suggestions

I'm really liking the Pandadoc integration and it works very well for our business. I thought that I would put some random suggestions up that might be good to add in the development pipeline.

1. Date formatting - it passes in US date format (09/25/2016) which is a bit of an irritant as we are preparing legal docs. I have no idea how you can solve this problem but just thought that I would pass it on as obviously for a contract we would want "25th September 2016" (of course we can edit the token so it's not a massive problem)

2. Line breaks don't pass through - I have a multi-line text input that looks like :

Bank Name
Bank Address
Bank Account Number

but when it passes through into Pandadocs it comes out as :

Bank Name Bank Address Bank Account Number

3. It would be nice to have the option to link information from two businesses, not just one. We are generating the contracts out of Projects so where we have "Buyer" and "Seller" it would be nice if we could select first and second linked organisations so that we can pull in both of their details, rather than filling one manually

  • HI Andy,

We are glad you are having a positive experience with our Integration with PandaDoc

Those are some great ideas and suggestions. I will be creating a ticket to change the Date Format and fix the line break issue, as for multiple organisation data, we will have to think about how to implement it.

    Thank you for using Insightly!

  • Hi Patrick.. did you get anywhere on the line breaks on the multi-line text box? Would be very useful (otherwise I may as well just be using a single text box). Sorry to pester you!

  • Hi Andy,

That change hasn't been made yet, i will make sure we get to it and get that out there within the next couple of weeks. Apologies for the delay.

    Thank you using Insightly!

  • Hi Andy,

It turns out we do send the proper line breaks but they are not being transformed properly on PandaDocs end. I am in touch with them to figure out a fix for this and will update you when i have some more information.

  • I'm actually coming across the same problem in Insightly Reports. The problem really seems to be at the Insightly end as if I have line breaks in a multi-line text field they don't pass into an xls export.

  • Hi Patrick,

Did you get anywhere on the line break issue? It's really annoying as if I have :

Andy is using Pandadoc and it is great.

    Frankie loves using it too.

it renders in Pandadoc as  "Andy is using Pandadoc and it is great. Frankie loves using it too. "

It is then uneditable in Pandadoc because you can't put line breaks inside a token without deleting the entire text AND the token and re-pasting and re-formatting.... but that defeats the object because every time I update the text I need to do it all again.

  • Hi Andy,

Sorry you are still experiencing this, i understand that it is frustrating. I got in touch with PandaDoc again and here is their reply:

Our Development team let me know that at this time, we do not have any ways or option to change on " multi-line texts are missing line breaks".

We will continue to look at this as we go forward with updates coming to PandaDoc. We will let you know if we can get this added later.

If you have access to their support team, it may be a good idea to contact them about this as well. Hopefully that will add some urgency to the situation.

  • Thanks for looking!! It's a great integration but problems like this which should be easy for them to resolve make me frustrated because it can't be that difficult for them to code!
