Unable to delete pipeline stages

"Hi

I am trying to delete some pipeline stages I know longer require but am unable to do so. None of those stages are currently in use in any opportunities and no activity sets are associated with those stages. Please advise ASAP. Thanks"

  • Hi Mark:

    If the Pipeline has been applied to Opportunities that are closed it can't be deleted. If you need help checking this the Advanced reporting views can be useful.

  • We are running into this same issue.  The pipeline stages are not assigned to any Opportunity.  The system has the delete button, but when deleting, we get the confirmantion popup, but then the page hangs on reload.

    Can you try from another browser to see if it is getting hung up in a specific browser? If you are still running into trouble let us know which Pipeline you are trying to delete and we'll investigate further.

  • We have tried multiple browsers and all have the same result.  The pipeline stage acts like it wants to delete, but it doesnt.

     

    Its the SDR Opportunity Old - ARCHIVED Pipeline  and the last 2 stages DO NOT USE & DO NOT USE2

  • Hi Tony:

    We noticed that there are some records in your Recycle Bin that may have this Pipeline attached to it. Deleted records will be moved to your Recycle Bin. This article goes over how to restore or remove items from the Recycle Bin. Can you empty this and try again? Please let us know the results.

  • I'm having the same problem. Can't delete pipeline stages. There are no opportunities in my recycle bin and no opportunities are assigned to the stages I want do delete. Also, in Chrome & Safari, on the one that has the ability to delete, it doesn't delete. Dialog box pops up and then nothing happens.

    We had a couple more reports of this and made a small update. Can you try this again and let me know if you were able to delete your Stages? Of course you'll just want to double check that you've removed your Pipelines from related records (including records in the Recycle Bin).

  • It now deletes the stages, but the redirected page stage is still blank in the area the pipeline stages should be listed.  We are required to click on the pipeline link and go back into the stages.   This is on OSX 10.12 with Chrome 53.0.2785.143 (64-bit), but we have also verified the same results in Firefox and Safari.

  • Hi Tony:

    Going to have this looked into by our engineers. We did some tests and when you delete the stage and it goes to the blank page, a quick browser refresh will show that the stage was deleted. We'll keep you posted on the display issue of the blank page. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

  • The pipeline stages still delete, but still not being redirected back to the rest of the pages, instead still getting basically the white screen.

  • Lyla, I am having the same problem. I cannot delete pipeline stages even after disconnecting the stage from all project, opportunities and tasks (and emptying my recycle bin).  The "delete" trashcan icon is greyed out.  Can you help?  Thank you, Jim

    Can you provide us permission to access your account? What's the name of the Pipeline and which Stage are you trying to remove?

  • Nora, yes I would be happy to give you permission to access our account for this purpose.  The name of the pipeline is "Sales Pipeline" and the stages are the 2nd and 4th stage called "Removing." and "Removing", respectively.

  • I am having the same problem. 
    When I am trying to delete a state (any of the opportunities are related to that stage, and I click on the trash button, nothing happens... like i did nothing.

    Please fix this ASAP, since my sales team weelky report depends on this.

  • Nora, I am traying to delete "lead" stage of the "Active" pipeline.

    Also I would linke to delete potential and qualified (but first I tried with Lead that is not attached to any opportunity)

    Have you checked your recycle bin and completed Tasks to confirm that stage is not in use?

    Thanks for your patience. You will need to remove all the tasks linked to Sales Pipeline Stage 2 and 4. There are quite a few in Completed Tasks.

  • I am also having this problem. I have tried searching for tasks that were created while in the Pipeline stage I'm trying to delete, but there is no good way to search for that (separate problem - you need custom filters for Tasks!!)

    I am trying to delete the "Site Visit" stage and associated activity set from the "Sales" Pipeline.

    Please help!

    I can certainly help you with this!

    To delete the Pipeline Stage, you need to delete all open and closed tasks associated with the Activity Set attached to that stage.

    To view all the tasks, I advise running a Task Report. When you run the Task Report, add the fields "Pipeline Name," "Pipeline Stage Name," and "Status." That way, you will be able to view the Pipeline, the Stage, and the status of the tasks you need to delete. Once you create the report, you can filter it by the "Pipeline Stage" to narrow down the results.

    This is happening to me as well.  I created a test pipeline just to see what it will look like.  None of my Opportunities nor Projects has a Pipeline activated.  Yet I can't delete it.  Can you please advise?
