Ownership of contacts and organizations

Hi everyone,

seems that since some weeks anyone that has the right to see a contact or an organization can change the ownership of the contact.

While the online instruction would give this right only to the contact owner and the admins, Insightly has confirmed me the above.

Is it a problem for you?

For us it is a huge one. Team members can steal each other contacts!

  • Hi Susanne,

If you're interested in upgrading your subscription, Advanced Permissions gives administrators on our Professional and Enterprise subscription plans an option to control which users can view, edit, or delete records. With this advanced security, you can set up user Roles and Profiles, as well as Organization-Wide Settings to lock down access to records when needed.

Once Advanced Permissions are enabled, Roles, Profiles, Organization-Wide Sharing, and Sharing Rules will need to be configured.

  • Dear Ed,

there is no need to upgrade if your system would do what stated in your manual!

  • Hi Susanne,

Feel free to check out our different plans and you will find that Role-Based Permissions are not available on the Plus plan that you are currently subscribed to.

If you have a manual that states different information, please provide that and we'll be happy to look into it as our goal is to provide the same information across the board.
