Automated Workflow to contact with data drawn from a project
I am now creating some workflows for sending out to clients emails to update them on the status of their case based on the entry of a receipt number in a custom field that I created in their project. However, I am hitting a roadblock, and I wanted to ask you how we can solve this.
We use projects for holding the data from the client's cases. Many clients have multiple cases with us, and so it makes no sense to put the case-specific information in custom fields in the contact. The automated workflow email that I want to send out needs to draw data from fields in the relevant project, but for the field where I need to designate who will receive the email, we need to pull up the client's email address to send the automated workflow email to the client. However, the only options that the workflow interface gives me are of users in our office, record owner, etc., all of whom are in our office. There is no option of emailing to the contact with whom the project is associated, i.e., our client. Can you help me to find a solution for this?
