Social Media Links Incorrect

Hi there,

The company I work for is considering Insightly and I wanted to try out the social media management tools when it comes to automatically adding social media accounts to contacts. I tested it out with my own email, one that is different from my Insightly email and tried to add myself as a contact. I gave it a minute and it found a Facebook account by my name. I clicked on it and it wasn't my profile, it was a blank Facebook profile. Also, it didn't find my LinkedIn account under the same address. So my question is how do I know if Insightly will find the right social media account, and in some cases, rely on it at all?

  • Hello Austin,

    Is your Facebook and LinkedIn account set to private? Because the social network search is based on an email address and public profiles, if a contact has a private profile, Insightly will not be able to find it.

    If your account isn't set to private and there still an incorrect match found a workaround that will work is to override and update the profile URL link.
