Credit Card Nag Screen

Hi - I've just started to get a credit card nag screen:

However, we have a free account! Any suggestions?

  • Hey Richard,

This is Alex with the Care Team, and I am happy to help you.

It looks like your account has 4 users, 3 of which are active. This is why you are asked for a credit card, as a free account can only have 2 users. Lower the number of users to 2 and this should resolve your issue.

  • Hi - actually, my account has "Max Four Users". See screen grab:

I have removed one user, but I think I'm allowed four. Any ideas on this?

  • Hey Richard,

Yes, we currently have no free plans with 4 users. As such, once a 4th user was added, even if it isn't an active user, the system would switch to a paid plan and would require a credit card.

  • Hi Richard and Alex,

I am experiencing an identical problem; however, I have run a free Insightly plan with four users created for several years now without any problems.  I am an IT Professional with a subsidiary responsibility for a charitable, (not-for-profit) organisation and I find the free Insightly plan a splendid solution to our record-keeping challenges.

I must conclude that the two-user limit is something Insightly has recently introduced alongside the new Insightly User Interface since until I was switched to this, there was no credit card “nag”.  I have also already reported an issue about a reduced upper limit to standard and custom reports being mysteriously introduced.

Feeling rather like the goal posts are moving?  By all means, change the rules, but firstly, please advise users in a timely fashion so they can understand the implications and make an informed choice.  Creating a sense of being held to ransom by constantly nagging for card details without explaining why is not an ideal way to keep your loyal customers happy.  If you need to restrict the free access for commercial reasons then I would surely feel more inclined to subscribe to a paid plan if I had been involved in and advised of the thought process and the implications.

Please confirm and advise your users of what the “New Rules” now are to avoid these misunderstandings and irritations.

Otherwise many thanks for a wonderful product which I have been very happy to recommend to other organisations over the years.
