Insightly duplicating calendar events

I have my Insightly calendar synched with my Outlook calendar, but when I create an event in the Insightly calendar it synchs it to the Outlook calendar but then a duplicate appears in the Insightly calendar - as if Insightly has then synched with Outlook and created what it thinks is a separate event in Outlook but is actually the event Insightly has just told Outlook about. 

 

Extra info: The duplicated events show up on the calendar tab in Insightly for iPhone but not on the 'Home' screen on the iPhone app for the day, and don't duplicate within the actual calendar, just the list below it.

The displayed information for two events which are actually just a duplicate is slightly different too - one of them shows the start time and has a link to Outlook when you click it, the other doesn't) - 

If I create an event in Outlook it just syncs it to Insightly - there is no duplicate - but I need to be able to create events in Insightly too.

    Thanks for the detailed information and I apologize for experiencing these duplicates!

    To further help you can you provide me with examples (screenshots) of these duplicates and from your devices. I'd like to take a closer look into this and attempt to replicate it on my end.

    I've attached 4 screenshots below. I created the event in Insightly on my laptop. It then immediately appears as an event on the app (the second photo), it then appears in the Outlook app (fourth photo), it then appears in Insightly again (third photo) - the duplicated event in Insightly (third photo) doesn't allow the event to my amended (there's no pencil icon on the third photo) - you can just open the event in the Outlook app.

    Can you confirm for me if you have calendar configured via the mobile app as well? This might be why you are receiving duplicate events. Please see my screenshots below for a reference and steps:

    Yes, it seems you have multiple calendars from different sources enabled. This could be why you see duplicate records. Can you turn these off and attempt to add an event. And, this will helps us narrow down where the duplicate event comes from.

    If I turn off 'Calendar' under the 'Exchange' list the duplicate disappears, but then all the events created in my Outlook calendar also disappear from my Insightly calendar.

  • Hello Edmund,

    Did you turn off the "Calendar" under the Exchange list in your Insightly mobile app or via your User Settings in Insightly via the web? You'll want to make sure to leave the Calendar Sync option enabled within your Insightly Account > User Settings > Calendar Sync.
