Email Not Sending After Workflow Trigger

I've set up a workflow process so that when an opportunity is 'won' and converts to a project, it will send an automatic email stating 'We are looking forward to working with you'

It worked in the past, however I've been doing some tests and the email is not sending when it should.

This is how I have set it up.

Does anybody have any ideas as to why it isn't sending?

  • Hi Kimberley,

You have the criteria screen which is good. Could you please provide more screenshots of the WFA Detail and Action screen?

    Thank you,

  • Thank you, Kimberley.

Your WFA looks good at the moment, but let's take a screenshot of the "send an email" edit menu and see if there's something there that may be off.

    Thank you,

  • Update:

I have set up a new, different workflow with the two actions:

    > send an email

    > create a task

Once the criteria is met, it does create a task, however I am not receiving the email, which makes me think it isn't the criteria that is incorrect it is something with the email part only.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you,

  • Hi Kim,

    Thank you for your patience.

The "Main Contact (Contact)" is a custom relationship lookup field in your opportunity record and the linked contact must have a valid email address in an email address field (cannot be a text field or any other field type).

Have you checked your spam folder? Have you been mass sending emails using WFA?

There are other email/spam related factors that may prevent your emails from reaching the recipients inbox. If this is the case, you'll want to use webhooks with zapier and connect your email service to send from Zapier instead of Insightly's mailing services. This will also give you more control on the look and feel of the email.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Thank you,

    Micah Feldkamp

  • Hi Micah,

It still just doesn't send the email. I have an email in the field for the main contact, I've check spam and I've tried two different emails now.

Any more advice? Strange that it won't send!

  • Hi Kimberley,

Since the problem is still persisting, I recommend using a two step Zap (free up to 100 per month) to send the email.

    Thank you,
