Switching Gmail App Account

We have recently switched to a new primary gmail account linked to Insightly. I have logged out of the Insightly App in the old gmail account, but when I try to log in on the new account I still get the following message (from Google Apps Script):

"This action is not supported while logged into multiple accounts in the same domain or multiple consumer accounts. Please log out and try again."

I have tried restarting browser etc. What else needs to be done? Thank you!

  • Hello,

If you need to change a G Suite domain or email address, please note that Google doesn't support the transfer of the connections to external applications like Insightly.

With that in mind, you have two options when making this change:

    1) You can add your existing users as External Users using the new email domain. Once added you can delete the old user profile and transfer any open items to the new profile. This is recommended as you will not lose any data this way.

However please note, external users would not have the ability to use the single sign-on method through G Suite. However, they can log in with an email address/password that they set-up.

    2) You can create a new Insightly account from your new G Suite domain, then export the data from your old account and import it to your new one. It's important to note ONLY the basic record data: Contacts, Contact Notes, Organizations, Organization Notes, Opportunities, Opportunity Notes, Leads, Projects, Project Notes, Tasks. Other items like file attachments, many links between records, events, comments, system settings, user settings, and emails saved to Insightly cannot be exported. We have an article with all the details about the process here.

You could then cancel the old account completely, and here are the instructions on how to do that.
