Coupling leads and organization

We are in the process of pitching two propositions to about 200 municipalities in the Netherlands. To keep track of who has been pitched which proposition, we were thinking of using the 'leads' function. This would seem perfect, as it would allow is to easily see whose been send what information. But unfortunately, leads cannot be coupled to an organization, so we cannot easily see what municipality has been send anything yet on the 'organization' page. We have to go through the leads page. Is this something that will be possible in the near future?

 

There are more scenario's in which we will have several leads within a certain company, but right now it's impossible to use the leads page to keep an oversight of these leads.

    Here are some suggestions:

    1. You could Tag the municipalities to see which have been sent which proposal https://support.insight.ly/hc/en-us/articles/204061624-What-are-tags- 
    2. Within a Lead, under the lead Status, there is a "Related" tab. In that tab is a Notes section. You can list which proposal has been sent.

    thank you for your reply. Say we have five different propositions, that we want to pitch to all these municipalities. We want to keep track of which municipality has been send which proposition, and in which stage of the sales process they are. What would be a good way to do this? It seems so logical that leads would be the way to go for this, as we can assign them different stages of prospect as we contact them and find the right contactperson for each proposition.

  • Hi Jorrik,

    You can use lead reports or custom list views to group leads by their organization to identify which leads are in what stage.

    Just make sure the spelling is correct on the organization name.

    If you have organization records stored in the organization object that are related to your leads, then you can use a custom relationship lookup field in the lead record to link to the organization record and group by the organization relationship lookup field on your lead reports or custom list view. I'd also recommend creating a program to auto-update the default organization field with the same value of the linked organization name; therefore when you convert the lead, the contact (and opportunity) for that lead will have the correct organization for it's default primary linked organization.
