How do I customize the columns of linked objects on the Related tab?

Hello,

We have a custom object that is related to an opportunity.

On the opportunity we see the custom object in the "Related" tab.

The only columns on the related tab are the Object Name, Record ID and Link date.

How do I modify what fields appear here?

Thanks,

  • Hello,

This  link https://support.insight.ly/hc/en-us/articles/360007413013-How-to-create-a-custom-object will give you some ideas on how to make changes, You may also want to go to the dashboard and click on the item you want to make changes with e.g. opportunity, organization etc.and see the options there.

  • Thanks Melissa,

This doesn't resolve the issue though. I have created a custom object, it is linked to an opportunity.

In the related tab for the opportunity I see the custom object HOWEVER the only fields it displays are the Record Name and Record ID, I want it to display more custom fields than just those.

I don't believe I saw that in the link above. If I missed it, can you point it out to me?

    Thanks,

  • Go to System Settings, Objects and Fields, Opportunity, Object Fields (on the left side of the screen). You will see a full screen with the different titles and you can make changes there. You can add or change a field.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi Melissa,

It's not a question of adding or changing custom fields, the issue is that I can't select which fields are visible when the records appear in the related tab of their linked object. Consider the photo below, This is the related tab of an opportunity with 3 linked custom objects. The custom objects have several custom fields. How do I edit which fields appear when viewing linked objects in the related tab?

  • Hi Melissa,

Yes, now do you notice in the 2nd to last picture, we see the linked object but the only fields are the Custom Order Name and the Record ID, how does one get columns to appear there? The Custom Order Object has fields like Phone Number, Customer Name etc.

  • My suggestion at this stage is to put in a support request. Also, are you on the Professional Plan? if not, you may not have the option to do what you are looking to do.https://www.insightly.com/pricing/
