Converting Lead to Opportunity - Field Mapping of Source

Hi,

i want to map the "lead source" into the opportunity - but it does not work. What can be the cause? I tried different field types. Now I do not know what to do. 

Thanks for your help.

Field in the Oppurtunity: I tried Loop up and Textfield. Did not work.

  • Hello Lisa,

    As a workaround for this, you will need to create your own Lead Source Custom Field. And, then you can map over that field (lead source) from Leads to Opportunities and Projects new Custom Lead Source Field.

    Ok, good to know. Is this something you changed?

    In our main account I did the same (I think last year) and it worked. I thought.

    Is this allready a topic in your IT? Because I do not know, why this important sales function is made so complicated then.

    This process was not changed on our end. It could have been that in your main account an admin set up a custom field for "Lead Source". 

    This is something that users have requested and has been brought up to our attention. If you like to advocate for a feature update you can always post your request to our Ideas & Suggestions page.

  • Hi Alejandro,

    I checked my data. I created a mapping in October 2018. 

    1) Insightlys "Lead Source"
    2) and a custom field for the opprtunity, where this field should map to. And it worked. 

    When looking at my data it seems like the functionality ended within your Insightly update in ~April.

    That is why I am surprized that it did not work in our HR Insightly.

    I can send the export to you, if you want to.

    So what now?

    Do you have a screenshot that you can provide showing the custom field (Lead Source) that was created for Leads to map over to Opportunities?

    Thanks for this helpful screenshots. May I have permission to access your Insightly Account and attempt to troubleshoot/replicate on my end? Please provide if you can in detail your exact steps so I can follow them one by one.
